Chaney is not perfect, but this is insane to blame this season on him.

Let's compare the first 8 games to the senior-led Peyton Manning offense in 1997. Do you realize that this year's team has scored more points through the first 8 games than we did in 1997? And, I doubt that we've ever played 5 teams in 8 games that are as highly ranked. The 1997 team only played one team in the top 10 and only 2 in the top 20 through 8 games.

Not that it would save Dooley's job, but he has to announce Sunseri's dismissal on Monday. He won't do it because the soft cream of the schedule is coming up. He figures if the Vols reel off some cupcake wins it will unite the fan base, save jobs and place this team in position to go to a meaningless Bowl. I believe most realistic fans have seen enough to know that Dooley is not the answer to getting this team at the next level. If they go through November undefeated please don't forget the month of October.

Why? They are both gone soon anyway, unless Sal takes a demotion.

LOL at OP blaming Chaney. What games have you been watching bro? We score 35+ a game and stil lose. Stat wise this is one of the best offenses in TN history even with turnovers, miscues and drops. It's not Chaney's responsibility to defend wide open recieves or prevent 70+ yard runs.

The blame goes on the shoulders of the HC, not the assistants, we have had plenty of assistant coaches the past 5 years.

You are so wrong about Chaney, He has done amazing things with Our Offense, we have scored enough points to win every game other than Alabama. So many times he even gives us a chance to win . Chaney is a very, very good Offensive mind, and you will see when he's gone just how good he was!

I'm not saying I agree with this statement, but people b*%#hed about Chavis too and now they'd love to have him back. You can't win with this fan base. If we get Gruden and he doesn't win right off the bat, the same people will say "I knew we shouldn't have hired him". #lifeasavolfan

OP,have you watched a game ...
yea,35 pts a game is all Chaneys fault...and you know they are all 75-80 yard long
drives because the only time we get the ball is after a kickoff...

The biggest problem with firing Dooley mid-season is who would take over as HC???

Chaney - HELL NO!!!...he's the biggest cause of the mess we are in already. IF Dooley stays this year, he MUST go.

Sal - NO way, no HC experience and he's already got his hands full

Jay G - Would probably do a decent job, but I wouldn't want him to be a "casualty of war", would really like to se him stick around even after Dooley. What he has done with Rajon, Marlin, and Devrin this year has been awesome!!!

So who does that leave...Coiner? Hinshaw?
Who do you think would be the best IHC on the staff?

You people are insane. Seriously, what season have you been watching?

Run Dools out of town. Let Fulmer or Majors be interim, bring stability and unite the fan base.

If Dooley were to be let go, not Majors (age is against him), but if Fulmer could be convinced to finish out the season as interim... we might have a little better chance of winning than if Dooley were still on the sidelines. Though many Fulmer haters may cry in despair, Fulmer MIGHT be the answer as interim till seasons end.

Whether its Dooley, Fulmer, Majors, Graham, Hinshaw, Chaney, or Neyland's ghost, I'm still yelling, "GO VOLS!!!"

Yeah because his O hasn't scored enough points... Oh wait...

Or maybe it is because he has choked under pressure.... oh wait, that's Bray.

Chaney is the one guy who will be grabbed immediately if he's not retained by the next coach. You guys may be blind but I guarantee other coaches are seeing what he's doing with UT's O vs very, very good D's. Les Miles will call for sure.

He's going to be in high demand if UT fires him.

He's probably the best choice should it come to an interim situation.

Who cares. Season is a bust with or without Dooley. We loose to Vandy and Mizzou. This should shut all you dream weavers and Dooley lovers up. But I know it won't.
