Biggest Offseason Question: Did we learn from the Florida game?

I think it's past time for you to wander back to the Gator board. You ruined a thread here, period. A Vol would have been banned from Gator Country or any other Florida board for doing what you just did. You threw out a childish insult and you know it. I have every right to post what I want and believe what I want on this board. I don't post on ANY rival boards.

I think you should take some of your own advice about the "nap" and fingerpainting. You certainly need it.

I'm done. You aren't worth anymore of my time.

Childish? I thought it was pretty clever.

If we didn't learn from the Florida game last year, we are in for another long year. There is no way we should get beat by such a large margin against any SEC team like we did against Florida and Bama. We just didn't show up. I personally don't think that will happen again this year.

I would think that UT would have a better game than it did against Florida last year, especially as the game is at home.

However, your post in a sense typifies a willingness I see in too many UT fans to both 1) refuse to credit the opposition, and 2) to refuse to criticize the talent level at UT. While it is doubtless true that UT threw in the towel in the UF game last year and that there was an attitude or motivational problem, you can't chalk it all up to that.

Simply put, UF deserves at least some of the credit for what happened in that game and you can't just say its all because UT gave up. There were some serious mismatches on that field in terms of raw ability and you are deluding yourself if you think it was simply a matter of UT players pouting and feeling sorry for themselves after the Ainge fumble in the third quarter.

Ironically, had the game been closer, then some UT fans on here might have been even more bothered by it. As is, because UT appeared to simply quit playing with about 20 minutes left in the game, the "You didn't win because you were better, just because we gave up" mantra is making people blind to the fact that in the first 40 minutes Florida players were literally running circles around the UT defense and even Florida's pitiful defense was making its way into the UT backfield with alarming regularity.

open question......The Bama and Florida losses last season, was it simply a matter of we did'nt show up to hit or did Chavis get schooled for being predictable? Does the man need a more obvious wake up call?
There may have been some of that going on. More than that though, I think Florida's offense was just that good and the Alabama game proved that we were just that bad (and young) defensively.

What is the "obvious" possible answer? You finished 9-4. We finished 10-4 and won the SEC East. Don't tell me you are going to say how much more "talented" Florida is. You got drilled by a team that lost to Appalachian State.

And we got drilled by a team that lost to Louisiana Monroe.

Besides, they're coming off a NC, so 9-4 isn't really that shameful given the people they lost.

Listen jerk, I don't remember calling you names or making some kind of smartass remark like that at you. I don't appreciate you doing that on our board. This isn't the Florida board. If you don't like reading positive things about UT? Don't read it. What you just typed would get a Vol banned from the Florida board.

I figured you were probably classless. Looks like I was right.

Actually, the gator board i get on you can say anything over there and not get banned.

The question Chavis needs to have an answer for...

Can he stop Florida from scoring "junk points"???
