I think it has to be his decision to sign back to back juco point guards, especially Melvin Goins. No one was overly excited with either of them, but we were downright apathetic about Melvin. Now Bobby is a senior leader who is money from the line, and Melvin is the kind of player any championship team would be thrilled to have. I think Melvin next year may be one of the focal points of this team. And I'm not panning the normal anti-Bruce folks for this. No one, and I mean no one, other than the current staff thought these two guys were going to be as good as they are. It's a revelation.

Mel and Bone have been clutch at times.. especially Mel in the tourney.. but without these guys we wouldnt be here. they have been small parts of this masterpiece of a team.. so yes i agree with what you say

I have no problem admitting Maze and Bone have both wildly exceeded my expectations for them. Just wish I could say the same for Hopson.

Yeah, Hopson hasn't gotten close to reaching his expectations. But all 3 point guards have played very well. Maze has grown up a lot in one year.

The biggest cry in the Lofton/James days was "If we only had a point guard..." ....well....we got one. 3 actually. And they're dang good.
