James Banks

I don't consider Banks a bust. He did great things when he wasn't in trouble. The catch against USCe for one thing. The hail mary before the half in Gainesville is another.

He was extremely dumb and immature however.

A bust, to me, is a guy that did nothing while he was here.

But that's just my take on it.

Daniel Brooks, the guy that took Patrick Willis' scholly, was a huge bust.

As I recall Andre Patterson can attest to Brooks' being a bust - as in bust in the face.

...and we see how that ended up.

See post #7. I was waiting to see if anyone would elaborate on him. The quote in the Jackson Sun by his highschool coach at JCM, who also coached Al Wilson, was that he and Al were about the same except that Daniel was quicker. I watched them both play in highschool and Daniel was good but I don't think he was near Al Wilson. I think the coach was Hardagree's dad and it was a package deal that included both players if Brooks signed with UT.

Without doubt, OJ Owens. The kid was supposed to be the second coming of the Saftey position and to my knowledge I never saw the kid play a down for UT.

I'm sure he got on the field some on Punt coverage but he was no where and I mean no where near the pub that was coming out about him.

Dustin Moore was an absolute beast at Greeneville. I remember watching him in High School, total beast.

Yes he was. He actually ran the first TE reverse I'd seen in UT history. Too bad he enjoyed the green stuff too much. Very nice guy though

Alright so I'm going to reveal my age I assume, but who was OJ Owens? I didn't start following UT in depth until a few years ago, and since he apparently never actually played I don't remember ever hearing about him. What years was he at UT? Any reason why he was a big bust?

In the past couple of years I would have to say Daniel Brooks... But on a much more positive note, we have had plenty of overachievers over the past couple of years... Many 2 stars that have been great players for us..

Darden is No. 1 without a doubt, but I can't believe CJ Leak's name hasn't come up.
