Bigger Disappointment?

It’s 2016 football and it’s not close. Think about it. In any given year at any point in the past 30 years if you were told at the beginning of the season that TN beats UGA and UF, what’s your next reply? Well we are winning the East and playing in the SECCG.

All we had to do was beat Vandy.

2016 Football Vols?
2020/2021 Basketball Vols?
2016 football.. heading into the A&M.. man I though we were there. Even losing to A&M in triple OT and a loss to bama would have been an incredible season... but like what the hell happened

Basketball is a tournament sport. Once you're in the NCAA it's about winning, period. Football is different, it's more about the journey, IMO. Every regular season game is important.

Plus, what would winning the SEC E in 2016 really meant? Getting clobbered by Bama again. Just because a team wins a division doesn't mean that team was "good." See the SEC E from 2013-2016.

12-4 is not a “complete disaster.” Sorry.

This team has talent, but the real talent is young, and it is rare that a freshman can carry a team.
with two senior All SEC players ?

What an ignorant comment, jump ship now. This team is the test of expectations for incoming 17/18 year old kids. They need work and time, this team is extremely disappointiny and underwhelming but to say they've never been good or aren't is just ****ing stupid.
They have a lot of talent but they are not the team that you and others say they are. Their record says so.

Don't know yet. Basketball isn't decided till March. Doesn't look good at the present.

This basketball team has never been that good. Just overhyped.
Soft and poor shooting team. Lot of nice athletes, but they have no identity. They're like a golfer who has "that" round where things click. He has everything working so he's relaxed and playing well. No stopping it. Just kinda snowballs...until a bad shot or missed putt comes. Then it's in his mind. One thing leads to another and before you know it, he's missing 2 footers regularly and can't seem to have enough balls in his bag to finish the round. He knows he can't make a good score so he calls it a day and heads to the clubhouse or just goes through the rest of the round unfocused and just getting to the 19th hole. There's no toughness to his game. Our BB vols are like that. No alpha and no toughness to this team. When they're on, look out. They can beat just about anybody this side of Gonzaga and Baylor...well...and Bama, UF and probably UGA/LSU. We can't beat those programs in anything these days.

Yes, 12-4 is a very good record in basketball.

Plus, I’ll be very surprised if either of those seniors gets drafted...even more surprised if they spend any significant time in the League. They are in the Bone and Schofield mold...good, but not great, college players with limitations. I appreciate all of them, but you folks overvalue almost every player who wears an orange shirt (basketball, football, etc.).

Even GWilliams will be interesting to watch. He is struggling to score in the NBA, and his long term viability in that league is questionable. And I hope he makes it.

Right now the Basketvols.. They were supposed to be really good. You don't lose to a bad Ole Miss squad if you're really good. Not even going to get close to the SEC title.

Neither team appears to be motivated. Not saying this to down the guy but when Pons is the leading scorer somethings wrong. Viscovi and Fulkerson don't have their head in the game.
