Big Ten Covid Protocols

First of all, teams are under the local health department guidelines for whatever city they are playing in. The NCAA and Conference guidelines al defer to the local government guidelines for testing and isolation.
I think you misunderstood my post 🤣

BUT, if an unvaccinated player gets COVID, then even vaccinated have to quarantine for 5 days if in close contact with that one. There are around 5% of UT players not vaccinated.

Don't know what guidelines Purdue is working under.
I thought the contact tracing rules didn't apply to them either?

No data has been given to support this. Vaxed are dying as well. I can say what they won’t tell you.
The unvaccinated have been dying at nearly a 10 percent clip ahead of the vaccinated since the vaccines were rolled out.

And I got the actual data to back that up unlike you. Yea some vaccinated have died not nearly as many as the unvaccinated have.

Show the data. It’s all BS we all know what’s going on. Many on this site know.

I think we just went over the football to politics cliff. I just hope and pray UT's football team shows up and wins this game Thursday. We may try to drive up last minute for some tailgating or cheap tix. Weather forecasts are anywhere from floods requiring an ark, winds that can lift a house, or a day at the beach. I am actually hoping Purdue shows up and the game is interesting, hard fought, and we come out victorious. Beating a team with injuries and other excuses just isn't as much fun or worth as much in recruiting/cred.

From what the NCAA says everyone gets tested vax or not - thats whats cancelling games in football and basketball

That's not accurate.

Symptomatic players are being tested regardless of vaccination status, which has been the case since the spring. Unvaccinated players are tested every 3 days or 48 hours before competition. There is not currently mass testing of asymptomatic vaccinated players in any sport at any level.

That's the policy of the 5 P5 conferences and it is the policy that the NCAA uses at NCAA Tournaments.

Coach Hueple done stated they wasn’t testing anyone that is fully vaccinated this week. That they was only testing the ones that wasn’t vaccinated and showing symptoms.

The NCAA isn’t canceling the football or Basketball games. The actual school with the “outbreaks” have been canceling them. Memphis basketball refused to play even though they had enough players to play but chose to use “Covid Protocol” as a crutch. Memphis had 4 active players that was available on top of 3 redshirts that Penny refused to play his players because he wanted to redshirt them. They had 7 healthy players on the team.

I just love when people spew BS just to make people think they know what is indeed fact when in truth they are only spouting BS to support their own agenda. Much like the liberal media
I have no agenda and everything I stated are facts straight from the Memphis AD and Penny himself. Penny claimed at beginning of the year that at least 90% of his roster was fully vaccinated, then when he was questioned on it after they canceled the game he then back tracked and claimed he mis spoke. Then the Memphis AD goes on record in an interview and stated that the time of the cancellation 11 of 17 players was fully vaccinated. By my math that’s around 64.7%, a far cry from the 90% he claimed. Before you say someone is wrong or don’t know what they are talking about you may wanna make sure you know exactly what your talking about. I’ll post the article I got my information about Memphis so you don’t have to struggle to find it even though google is pretty simple to use.

You do indeed have an agenda. It is to degrade and shame someone who made a decision not to play an important game with a ghost of a roster verses a very strong UT team who was at full strength. Not sure where the venom for Memphis arose but having been born and raised in West Tennessee I have always felt like we were treated like a red headed step child in the eyes of the East Tennesseans. I have been in upper East Tennessee for 40 plus years and I love this side of the state but I also appreciated my birth home as well. Just ask yourself this question, had the circumstances been reversed would you be as critical of Barnes for postponing or canceling the game. Before you say he wouldn't do that, I would say,'yeah right'. I appreciate your attempt at educating me but at my age GTS is a large part of my daily life. Condescension isn't always required in most discussions.

Games should not be cancelled unless players are actually sick.... The asymptomatic cases shouldnt be cancelling everything.... Play the games and live life. But of course the things we keep being told change day by day
