Dooley will get you there talent wise. However, he will do it a little different from a recruiting standpoint...meaning it will take him much longer, as he recruits character, academia ETC...he must have players that have been in the program 3-4 years.. so to speak. He wont pour hot sauce on em, so if your looking for a top 1-3 class, it likely wont happen. He will do it through 5-6 years of consistent classes, with the occasional top 5. Saban did it differently at BAMA, but few can. Remeber, many wanted SABAN gone at MSU, as Michigan kicked his ass in recruiting.. so he learned as he went to some degree, as is Dooley.
Bottom line 10 people could make Arguments both against and for Dooley and you could easily convince me either way. He really needs a big win, cause I DO THINK HE WILL BE A GOOD COACH FOR US... LONG-TERM...hence the LONG -TERM part ...lol
I do know HART would like DOOLEY to suceed, but Dooley is giving him little Ammunition. If Hart decides not to keep Dooley, look for Gruden or Smart to get big contract opportunities.....Not saying either Accepts though, which only complicates the issue.
If both BAMA and SC WAX our Butts, I might change my opinion, but for now, I want DEREK to make it. Dave Hart is in a VERY, VERY, VERY, tough position...believe me.
