I am really surprised by lack of any big name RB commit like Green and others specially even after new coach kept Jay Graham. I think Graham has a solid resume and for any budding RB Tennessee would be immediate playing time versus LSU/Bama where they might never see the field !!
Do we really suck that much in recruiting ? Also any new kicker or punter on Radar ? I will be super sad to see palardy near Neyland again ..

I pray palardy's career is over.

So you're surprised that we haven't landed a big name and Jay has only been on staff for one year.. and, let me get this straight.. but he's the number 1 RB in the country? Yeah, we should be pretty angry at that .

We are good at RB recruiting. Top 2 for Green as you know. Too bad we are a distant 2nd. Graham will pull a great RB this class, but not Green. Many of the great USCJr recruits that they signed to turn that program around we're from SC, or grew up as fans. Let a great back come out of TN, and see what happens. Hopefully Hurd proves me right, even though he might not project as a college RB

We actually have three pretty good RBs looking at us... Derrick Green is the obvious top choice (but he may go to Mich), Alvin Kamara is taking an OV some time in January (and we are slightly behind Bama and UGA -- but they are already set for a while at RB), and we also have a LOT of interest out of Aregeros Turner (a little lesser known, but FAST).. Not to mention, Neal and Lane are a pretty good duo already. I'm pretty sure Turner is going to end up in orange, and if we can get DG or AK we'd be set. -GBO

we have to first learn to win with less then we will get more. Sorry kids could care less about tradition and history kids want to win and rightfully so. If we start winning the 4 and 5 stars will come look at ND and TAMU. ND is similar to us not in a talent rich state but has a great program with lots of tradition. The difference is they have won games and developed the 3 and few 4 stars they had on their roster

relax....signing day is a month away

But we need to have all the commits now or it's time to panic....

Don't you realize on VN we have a month to gripe about this....then a signing day meltdown time....then really nothing for a month or two until we can gripe about bad QB stats or bad defensive stats of the spring game

then, you go 5-7 during the season and fail to grasp how it all happened.

Do we really suck that much in recruiting?

So it's a month from signing day. We are considered to be one of the top two choices for the best RB in he nation.....

But because he hasn't committed as of right now, we suck?

You're why I strongly believe in castration of anyone with an iq of or below room temperature.

not agreeing with the other poster at all, but the new staff has presumably swung and missed with the best RB in the nation. of course, the argument can be made about the time CBJ has had to work with, but recruiting is an unforgiving monster come fall. we need a game changer.

Where do you guys get this stuff. Everyone in America believes it's a two team race between us and Michigan, everyone but the posters on vn.

Who have apparently placed their tail between their legs and the gun in their mouth, just waiting for the next 5 win season so they can pull the trigger.

It wasn't talent or recruiting this time that cost us games. We can have Green and Kamara and have everyone return and still go 5-7 with Dooley.

Probably just use to seeing great RBs commit early to Bama, Georgia, Florida, A&M, LSU, etc while we still have none. I get it. I do not see this as being an IQ problem just emotion and passion. If we get Green, I bet he'll be OK.

How does that justify claiming we suck at recruiting? Because our great RB waits till NSd?

i'm just saying don't get upset when people are concerned about various aspects of the program, when the results on the field have validated the concern.

it's ok to laugh at people for thinking the sky is falling unless the sky actually is falling.

Yep. I agree. I tend to worry more about the direction our country is headed instead of our football program. It is just football after all. With that said, I love the VOLS and hope I can see them play in Heaven one day.:)
