Even then, I'm not sure any of those guys are Top 5 all time at their position other than Hester as returner. You can make arguments for Reed, Sapp, and Lewis for sure but Johnson and Irvin arent top 5 WRs.

I went back and took another look.

Lewis - I would rank him in Top 5 but MLB is so stacked where arguments can be made.
Reed - He's top 5 at safety.
Sapp - He's close. Aaron Donald has passed him and if you include John Randle (who played a bit at DE), that nudges Sapp down another spot outside Top 5 but he's close.
Hester - clearly Top 5 returner of all time

Irvin and Johnson - Great, HOF receivers but neither are Top 5. Both in 10-20 range.

Tennessee is the only school(along with Miami)that can claim top 5 players all time at this many postions:

Peyton Manning
Reggie White
Al Wilson
Eric Berry(if he had been healthy)
Jason Witten
Cordarrelle Patterson
Doug Atkins

Al Wilson is not even near top five.

not only is Peyton top 5, he is also the goat in my eyes because if he played with Belicheck and those defenses, he would have more rings than Tom

Montana is the goat.

Even Brady has said he couldn’t make the throws he does now back then because he would have had his head taken off. Montana played when teams actually paid out bounties. Now if you even breathe on a QB it’s a flag.

Mississippi Valley can claim top 5 at WR and DE
Michigan can claim top 5 at QB, Guard and CB
Purdue can maybe claim top 5 at QB and CB
Miami can claim top5 at Safety and Center
USC can claim top 5 at Safety, Tackle, and maybe RB
FSU can claim top 5 at CB and Tackle

Looks like UT can claim the most TOP 5 NFL players at their respective positions, and the only one with 2.

If Kamara stays healthy for another 3-4 years he'll have a chance at top 15 back all time. He's probably already a top 10 All Purpose back all time. I'm pretty sure he'll be the fastest to 10,000 all purpose yds but might be mistaken.
