For some reason, I think Diamond and Mercedes will be back next season. I don't either will enter the draft. Te'a and Diamond are very close friends and I just think she'll want to play with Cooper one last time. Plus I think we'll have a better team next season also with the addition of the #1 recruiting class plus Cooper and Green. No disrespect, but the Sweet 16 is realistic for this and to me an Elite 8 and Final Four would be overachieving. That's just my opinion.

Looking at the talent, and how deep most teams are across, the country, we can be right in the thick of thangs.

Looks like the talent and teams are pretty even so far...I feel like we are one of those teams that can make it to elite 8 or final 4, if we stay healthy, cos our starting five is as just as talented as other teams. But i'm a optimist. lol

Kaela got no respect in the preseason and I knew that would light a fire under her even more. I felt from the beginning if she played to her ability that she would easily be SEC Player of The Year and an All American.

Dat part! SEC is loaded with talent too.

Next year's draft is going to be deep, I would want to be the national player of the year in that class honestly.

Diamond has no reason to leave early... what has she achieved as an SEC athlete?

We look more talented than Texas and Stanford, by eye test. I think we look more talented than Uconn. We have a shot.

Can we win the big games? Can Diamond perform in the big games? Can the team handle big games moments?

I hope you are right!! We got Baylor at home, Texas away and Stanford at home. I would love to get 2 of the 3 as wins but realistically I am not sure we get any. But you know that is why they play the games. Our 6, 7, and 8th players will have to bring it. Harris has to get better as well.

I still think we should go 3-1, against Baylor, Texas, Stanford, ND. Harris has time, let's go Nunn.

Just looking at South Carolina, they actually have the talent to win a championship this year with Davis, Gray, Coates and Wilson. They probably have the best starting 5 in women's college basketball. Davis would've been the perfect fit in our system. Wish she had chosen Tenn!

Stanford over Texas by 12 is a shocking score. FSU loses by two to UConn. They only beat Jacksonville St. by 11. I think there is a lot of parity in WBB this season and looks like the title is wide open for someone to get better and take. Nobody winning by gigantic margins this season.

System? In the last four years I haven't seen anything that resembles a "system." Tennessee is always loaded with talent, but there has been way too much one-on-one basketball. Notre Dame has a system, not Tennessee.

Davis took 21 shots last night. Do you think Diamond wants anyone other than herself taking that many shots in a game? I cannot imagine how both players could be on the same team and be happy. I can only imagine what Diamond's father and Davis's mother would have to say about the two of them sharing the ball!

Diamond took 9 shots in the last game so try again.

I liked all the scores last night. I know it's only week 1 but it does lend itself to at least the hope that anybody can win this year. We will know more in December.

Aston got out coached plain and simple. Tara back doored them to death. As bad as FSU looked vs Jacksonville St. we had to figure they weren't gonna look that bad 2 games in a row. Even though they shot the ball poorly they got a bunch of offensive rebounds and took advantage of the extra possessions to keep the game close.

All in all it was a good night. For a second I thought Baylor was going down. UCLA had them for a good 3 quarters before Baylor pulled away. IF the scores are still this close in a couple weeks we may have a good year for parity. I'm optimistic that it is anyone's year and if it truly is anyone's year my gals may still have a small chance come tourney time.

If by system you mean an offense and a game plan, then Tennessee has one. The problem is is that Holly has never valued it enough to practice it to where the team executed very well in a game. If the first two games this season are any indication that has changed at least a little bit. The team looks better on offense this season than they have any of the last 2 years. But, yes, they have a system.

You guys will always have a chance as long as Geno is at the helm. He finds a way to get it done when it seems like y'all are dead in the water.

Question for you?

Since Middleton is more than likely going to replace Nunn in the starting lineup tonight, do you use Diamond at the High Post or Nared?

I think Diamond would be more effective because she hits that Midrange jumper with more consistency than Nared. Just wondering?

I'd say Nared. Diamond is at her best when in motion, and her ability to attack from outside the perimeter all the way to the hoop. She is a better ball handler and facilitator. Nared is a better rebounder, can clean up misses on offense, and can stretch the defense with her shooting range.

I really hope they don't change the lineup. The girls seem to be comfortable and a chemistry has formed. I like middelton Jackson and dunbar coming off the bench providing a spark.

You must be a UConn fan? I really feel sorry for Diamond, she is so misunderstood. She is trying her best to show she's a team player to please critics like you and she's in her own way worried about what people like you may say. She doesn't come off as rude or disrespectful, but she's under a microscope by so many people ready to crucify her for any little thing. Every interview she does is always dissected and whatever she says is taken out of context it's ridiculous. My goodness give the young woman a break. This is just basketball not a life or death situation. She's a Lady Vol and we're glad she's in orange. If you are not a Tennessee fan, why worry about Lady Vols players, program or whether or not they have a system? That's is for us Lady Vols fans to care about. Good grief! There are more important things in life.

It's a ucon troll, not a ucon fan. Don't expect any decency or class from it, even when discussing a lovely young woman such as DD.

I dislike everything UConn! Do I constantly lurk on their forum? No! Have I ever or will I ever post anything on their forum? No! Do I care about their team or program? No! Do I care who they recruit or sign? No! Do I think Geno is a good coach and respect what UConn has done in WCBB? Yes! Even as a passionate Tennessee fan, my life don't revolves around Lady Vols basketball. Some of them are arrogant snobs and I really wonder if some them will need professional help post Geno era. He is god to some of them and they give off that same arrogant disrespectful vibe. Their program is perfect in their eyes only. I can't understand fans that kiss their a** to get along with them. No way if I don't care for a program am I going to constantly lurk and post on their forum.

so, only people with Vol or LadyVol or LV in their login are allowed to be critical of the team/coach/players, other wise they are UCONN FANS!!!@@#@##@# and must be banished from from the forums!! lol, you guys are entertaining.

I mean come on, straight up Lady Vol fans have been critical of Holly's offensive schemes(system), or lack there of, for years and you know it. But hey, as long as everyone is in their defensive stance and working hard for rebounds it going to be ok... Making the Elite Eight every year is good enough, isn't it? :good!:
