I always show up to take my lumps. And I have taken many of them. That is not a problem.

Im normally very humble about these things. It is, afterall, just sports. Im not out there playing the game, so I have no control over it. Im not the one winning the game, so I have nothing to brag about. And as long as I can keep my mouth under control, I wont have many people coming at me if I lose.

The only problem I have in this thread is that there are people who refuse to look at things fairly.

Im message board sparring with a guy that is probably a pretty good dude....aside from his views on Mich State. so, It is not real bright on my part either. :hi:

If you read most of my posts in this thread (and yeah, that is probably a waste of good time) you would see that on most points we might actually agree.

I just believe you are taking comments from decades ago and trying to make them fit in todays football world. UT is not what they were in the 90s, but they are getting back to it. The Big10 is not what they were in the 70s and 80s, but several teams are still very good.

Either way, you will think what you want to think. And 2 more things:
1) Im not smart enough to carefully craft anything.
2) you seems to care more about MSU football that you let on

(I used to work for tO$U, scouting HS chick basketball....was an assist. HS FB coach at the time. Low paying, over rated job, but I loved it. Ran all over the state of Michigan keeping stats on kids they were recruiting. The Fax machine was my best friend...if that says anything about how long ago it was. I made it 3 seasons before I had to get a real job to support myself)

Nobody's faulting him for being loyal. He's calling people "ignorant" and says he lives in "Rednecksville". I wonder if that is Knoxville? or Nashville? Obviously, it's not East Lansing or Detroit or Orlando because God knows there are no rednecks there. What makes me mad is when people either from the north or the south or wherever move here and start bashing the place. I didn't ask these people to move here. *******s are everywhere and if you (gatorbill) think you now live in an area that has a bunch of them then chances are you are the *******. Don't take up for Gatorbill. He's just a troll out for blood. If he wants to move away from here, God knows his employer won't miss him. GTFO is what i say. OR stay and enjoy the nice people, beautiful weather, pretty girls, I could go on. Or you can return to either Florida where it is hot as hell 9 mos out of the year or EL where it is cold as hell 9 mos out of the year.

Im sorry I offended you. The "ignorant" comment was probably going too far. I should have worded it differently to say that it was an "ignorant statement". It was not meant personally.

Where Im from, born and raised in Lansing MI, I would be considered a redneck. I have horses, I have farmland, I have a truck with 280k miles on it.

Where I currently live, is not Knoxville. Is not Nashville. I would give up a lot to live in either place. Especially Knoxville.

Finally, Im a long ways from a troll. If I didnt have a vested interest in UT sports, I would not be here. If you pay any attention, you will notice Im not going after this UT -v- UF game at all. I will not troll, never have, never will.

and yeah, my employer would miss me.

Thanks for your time. This is getting ridiculous.

That explains everything. My statements are ignorant on here for sure. You didn't offend me. It's all in fun. Although it is getting old that all the recruit's pages are people doing this and then i start doing the same dang thing.

Yes, we'll be on the same side, i suppose.

But, my 100% true passion is UT. I really don't get that emotional about OSU or any other team.

Having grown up as a Spartan and Gator, and attending both schools, it has made my life a mess at times. Having a kid that not only attends, but competes for, the University of Tennessee......well, it makes life very interesting.

I fully support my kid of course, but cant give up my roots. Im not the ultimate Vol fan, because this one week a year I am not on your side, but Ive never been a vol hater either. And will be pulling for your Vols the rest of the year.

Have a good weekend. Keep it safe. See yall next week. (trying to stay away but had to come back in for this post.)

The little 10 is meaningless until they can win a National Championship against a SEC team.

Their only claim to fame is the Rose Bowl which the little 10 BOUGHT their way into controlling.

I do hope that our fans realize ESPN coming to Knoxville with GameDay is a great thing! It's win-win-win for UT, Knoxville and the football program. Toss in a long-overdue win over the Gators and we're talking perfect weekend.... save for idiots who want to exact a pound of flesh from Chris Fowler.

Give some props to Michigan State for knocking off tattooO$U back in '98 to help pave the path to the BCS National Championship for the Vols (if this has not already been done in the 15 pages of this thread).
