Biden's first day in office

But not if the products are manufactured elsewhere. We've forgotten the lessons of the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the middle class - globalism isn't the answer.

the irony is that Uncle Joe is dreaming of millions of union jobs making stuff in the good ole USA

it was jest as I assumed your post was - however, it has been people on your side of the spectrum openly calling for deprogramming/reprogramming people who are "wrong thinking"
Yes, mine was in jest also. No one says it with any seriousness. If they do, they need to be reprogrammed.

That is what amazes me....It is wealth redistibution based on "emerging" economies like China, who incidentally passed us in PPP GDP.
At some point this nation's resources are going to be ripe for the picking.
I am wholeheartedly trying to have a glimmer of hope for our nation, but it is fleeting, and not even just about Trump losing.

It's like the world has gone stupid (at least our part of it) and doesn't understand the key to being a consumer is earning a wage, and believing all you need is service industry is a loser.

We're talking about money, right?.... Taxes and borrowing to pay for programs which increase the quality of life of some?

the party of science could take a look at the poverty rate change since the implementation of the "War on Poverty" and conclude that they are mistaken but facts be damned; it's our feelz that matter

Someone smarter than Luther needs to help me here.
If my additional tax money paid increases quality of life for another (because they benefited from goods and services purchased with money), how is it possible my quality of life doesn't decrease (because I have less money)? Isn't the money the factor causing the teeter totter to tilt?

Maybe the quality of life you worked for was too good before and now it needs to be brought back where it belongs. Dims know what’s best.

It's like the most educated party cannot understand basic economics or history. They certainly can't grasp the basic thermodynamic concept that nothing comes free and the physical concept that gravity always wins, but despite it all they believe that perpetual motion can happen and there are no frictional forces ... rainbows and unicorns.

Here's a simple option - if the new administration wants to give more to our citizens how about they bring our troops home and greatly reduce our foreign involvement in general?

Too bad the cabinet choices have a history of intervention and military engagement overseas.

Why they have to make burger flippers at least have a chance. Damn kids used to work there to gain responsibility, and maybe older folks who just liked the work, and now people trying to live off it. Nothing wrong with it as I applaud anybody that works and tries to pay their bills, but this industry and several others as a whole are not made for it.

Yeah, just not yours. Somehow if others are "better" your life is, too. But reducing everybody to the same level of poverty and unhappiness has never really worked.
