Kentucky hasn't been to Tampa in awhile is probably why...They would bring a lot of fans with them....Not as much as UT would but for them a lot

There is no way in Hell that happens...Source that all you want. UK is 5th in the East.

6 teams in the SEC have a 7-5 record. 2nd in the East doesn't mean anything. Outback can take whatever team they want as long as it's the next best or within a game.

I do not like AU in the Music City. Just helps them build on that Brentwood Academy connection. I'm sure they'd like to expand on that. How about Arky or SC to the Music City?

Exactomundo. All of those teams are within one conference loss of each other. Anyone of them could ge the invite. There will be some serious lobbying going on.

Are you telling me that Kentucky would out-travel us? That is also insane. Completely absurd.

Yes I am saying that. People get tired of going to the same bowl over and over. I grew up in Florida and spent every Jan 1 at the Citrus Bowl, it got old. UK hasn't sniffed a bowl of this quality in 10 years and their fans would jump at the opportunity. To give you an idea of how their fans travel, granted its for bball which is their sport, they brought an estimated 20k-25k to Atlanta two years ago for the SEC basketball tournament. At our opening game vs USC I'd estimate we had 5k tops, and we're 2 hours closer. This is a fan base that travels unlike any I've seen considering the mediocrity they're traveling to watch.

2 be chosen behind 2 teams (UK/GA) that we beat and finished higher than would be a huge slap in the face. The ONLY reason the Outback would choose UK over us is because 1 of their founders graduated from UK and donates alot of money 2 them. Bowl selections shouldnt be chosen because of personal ties. Thats bs and takes away from the teams who really earned them.

Considering the bowl game we went to last year, as well as everything that has happened since the last time we were in Tampa...I'd say we would sell our full allotment.

Basketball and Football are two different things to them, as well as us.

Again, there is no way in hell they out-travel us to this bowl game....I know you're stuck in hell up there, but put the blue Kool-Aid down...

Aren't they already putting the heat on Brooks AND Joker? What the hell about that says sell-out?

Why the heck would the outback want kentucky?

They wanted them and would have selected them had they won. Since they did not Outback will not select them. No way they would select UK and the firestorm it would bring. The UK basketball is the next day and the attendance would be low. This was the fear before Saturday's game.

I cannot even fathom UK getting a better bowl than us right after we BEAT them. Come on man. Can you imagine the uproar about the bowl selection if that happened?

Great point about the basketball game. Being here in Nashville, we have seen them come in droves the past few years...I would be interested to know what the basketball situation was those years as well.

Although Nashville to Lexington is a very easy one day (car) trip, compared to Tampa.

They could possibly out travel us this year. The point I look at is the fact that this staff gets to coach the kids another month. They get to watch film and even practice the red- shirts.

I'm a UT graduate and hate living amongst them so please refrain from including me with them and "accusing" me of drinking the blue kool-aid. All I'm saying is their fans travel and they travel well. Stop drinking the orange kool-aid and thinking we have the best following of fans when it comes to traveling. I was highly impressed with the showing I experienced at Ole Miss 2 weeks ago and then I've been highly disappointed in what I've seen at some of our home games. If its raining, cold, or we're not winning our fans have no problem not showing up, that goes for all sports, UK could have this problem all the time (they're never winning) yet their fans continually show up and pack 70k into a 63k stadium. I'm done arguing, and I'm tired of UT fans thinking that we're the be-all-end-all when it comes to every aspect of college football.

Uk to outback strong possibility because of outback CEO Sullivan. Huge uk guy who is also big wig in Florida and with the bowl game google his name and uk, or checkout the other thread " outback it is"

His sources, not mine. Just sharing what I heard. I also hope it doesn't play out like that.

And just a day or two ago Low's source was telling him we were going to the Cotton Bowl. Not too impressed with Mr. Low's "sources".

I'll believe they want Ky over us the day they make the announcement and then I still may not believe it.

Good news about Tampa!! Much warmer, I can go to the beach, plus there are tons of good clubs in Clearwater and St. Pete with lots of hot ladies!!!

... a ranked opponent. There's no glory in beating an unranked foe in some low-tier bowl game. I hope the bowl inviters will remember that the Vols do well against highly-ranked teams. Just ask FL and Bama. :td:
