Beware: Something is going on at Mississippi State

When Lebby, a former assistant under Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel, broke down the tape, it was the offensive line that was the first thing he noted. Despite losing four of five starters up front and being down the projected starter at right tackle, David Sanders, the group looks improved from a year ago. This is not just the ability for the o-line to keep Aguilar clean, but to get the run game going, as well. When one aspect of the offense gets rolling, it naturally opens up the other.

Then, it was UT’s ability to make plays down the field. With time in the pocket and the run game established thanks to the offensive line, Tennessee has been able to hit on multiple splash plays a game.

“They are playing really well up front,” Lebby said. “That was one thing that I did last night was watch their offense vs. Georgia and that’s what stuck out to me. The way they’re playing up front right now, having the ability of keeping the QB clean and then how they’re being able to push the ball down the field and make some competitive plays jumped off the tape. For us, it’s going to be about stopping the run first. That is going to be a huge part of it. They want to get the run game going, that’s when they have their most success. So we have to find ways to limit that.”

They aren't bad for sure, but they are nowhere near a title contender this year. They lost more than Skattebo (who finished 5th in Heisman voting himself). They lost their 2nd and 3rd leading WRs. And Fautanu was probably their best OL last year.

But I don't think it's difficult to see the effect Skattebo had for them last year and how badly they have missed it this year. Raleek Brown has been a good runner for them, but he is nowhere close to the weapon that Skattebo was out of the backfield.
ASU barely beat Baylor too

Losing Colquitt shook our team and we panicked playing 3 QBs. That was it
It took the team a full half to overcome the shock & disappointment of Jerry losing his chance. After they settled down, they were clearly the better team but too late.

If JC don’t go down, they only lose to Fla that year.

Oh I realize that. I just remember watching it thinking how did UT lose with all of that talent? They hadn’t quite put it together yet.
Lost QB1 at UCLA then QB2 at MSU now you're playing 2 true FR QBs.

…Or the MSU homers are all over MSU because the sharps at the casino opened the line at the right place to draw action.
"Sharps" don't set the line, Sharps are the big money players that bet the games as soon as they are posted on Sunday. MState players don't have the kind of money to move the line 3 points....

If you don’t think the sharps and the casinos work together, I’m not sure what to tell you.

That was an exciting time, watching the team fight through adversity. Helton giving his all. SportsTalk was alive! The Stewart, camp and the Manning camp arguing over which one was better. Manning eventually separating himself. The future looked bright.

To beat the Vols, what Miss State needs is, more Cow Bells. They've got to find more Cowbells. 🤣
