Better than people think

I think the DL and WR positions will be better than people think.

Care to give some insight into why you think so? Just starting a thread to say that is pretty pointless, as we don't CARE if YOU think so, we want to talk about WHY.

I would tend to agree, as people tend to think things worse than they are.

However, will our WR corps be good enough to take the pressure off of our running game (and therefore off of our OL)?

Dan Williams and Demonte Bolden will have better than expected seasons, Coach Caldwell has talked up the X-man like he's the second coming of Leonard Little and Antonio Reynolds will be a solid contributor. I expect Wes Brown to be starting at DE before the season ends.

Incoming talent at the WR spot. O'Neal is an immediate deep threat with Vinson and Jones emerging as playmakers. Rogers and Hancock will also be dependable when UT needs those 7 yards for first downs.

I have really high hopes for the DL, actually, too. I think Mapu will need to be a leader on the line, show the team how to stay disciplined. Bolden will be counted on to be a Big John type of player, and Dan Williams will need to have a Franklin-type season as a back-up, before blossoming in 2008.

Is Chase Nelson still at DT or did he move to DE?

DT. He made a couple of plays, but McClendon did a pretty good job of holding him off at the point of attack.

Nelson has good measurables, if he can give good snaps as a back-up, the 4 man rotation at tackle will be solid.

Trooper Taylor will fix the WR he will not be afraid to play some of the new players and the DL will be better than last years.

DL...probably. But I see our WRs struggling early on. But I think if they can get some chemistry with Ainge, which I think they will, they will be alright by the final few games

I think Trooper Taylor will lead the Vols to a NC this year. And perhaps even a Super Bowl victory after that.

I nominate this for one of USAFs Volnatties. Definitely could fall into "Post of the Year" category.

Thanks but I could not accept the award. The credit would have to go to Trooper Taylor, without him that post would not have been possible.
