I was disgusted about this game as much as anybody, but there was a much better performance than you think. Without the turnovers, this game was even.

Florida Passing 186 yds.
Florida Rushing 201 yds.
Total 387 yds.

UT Passing 208 yds.
UT Rushing 156 yds.
Total 364 yds.

Net difference -23 yds.

Strictly from a overall comparison, we performed except for the self inflicted wounds. I love our school and this team. I know rough times are ahead, but I am not willing to quit on them. Somebody gave time to gain 208 yds. passing and somebody opened holes to gain 156 yds rushing and both would have been much higher if we had the clock time back that we gave away to turnovers.

While I agree with you, stats in a game like this are meaningless when your opponent gets half a field a majority of the game and you hand them the ball 6 times.

take away the one big run and the rushing yards aren't impressive, even with the big run, we averaged less than 3 YPC. we got no push and got physically whipped thier front 7, in every way/shape and form.

there's not much to take away on a positive note when discussing anything related to the OL play.

it was abysmal.

Look beyond numbers.

After Tennessee made a mistake, did Florida have to settle for field goals or did they cash it in for 6. That’s the most red zone success I’ve seen from Florida than I can remember.

Which QB had time to throw?

Could Tennessee run the ball? Not just total yardage, but impose their will. The safety. The third and shorts.

Game within the game wasn’t close.

Not way to sugar coat anything about this game. We were complete garbage from the coaching , play calling, both offensive and defensive, as well as the players coming out flat for the 4 the game in a row. Florida punched us in the mouth from their first play from scrimmage ( 15 yard gain) while our crowd was amped up and doing our best to help the team. This program is just a complete dumpster fire at this point and we are in the worst era of Tennessee football in the modern era.

These stats demonstrate the general theme on this board after the game" Our talent is equal or better than UF. We simply were not prepared by this coaching staff at any level to play this game

Spot on. No offense to you, but if we couldn't run last night who can we run on in the SEC. KY dominated UF in the run game.

Certainly saw where the problems are. OL, OC, QB decisions, being able to snap a football. A lot of poor execution on offense that can't happen. Take away the six turnovers we have a ball game.

there is no way you can watch that game last night and talk about "talent".

even if it were true elsewhere on the roster, the O line play won't allow any of it to come to fruition.

for those of you hell bent on assigning blame to the coaches or to the players, i have one thing to say....they all sucked last night. we didn't play well on the field, we didn't look prepared. you don't get blown out at home (again) and it be the fault of any single party.

it takes a total team effort to suck like that.

You usually post thoughtful and welcome comments...and this isn’t any exception as FL was clearly the team with the mojo tonight....

But when your neighbor hands you a win on a silver platter you probably shouldn’t go into his house and start hitting him on he head with said platter.

Ugh...you too?

If Florida has dropped 3 turn overs on their short end of the field I the first quarter the conversation would be reversed here. I agree the Vols stink right now but ..... for the love... piss off

Disagree......talented players don't miss blocking assignments, drop passes that hit them in the hands, and fumble on a consistent basis. I'm pretty sure the staff had a good game plan. The players didn't perform.

"Birds fly, fish swim, players play" These players didn't play last night.

Stats are many times simply coincidental. We got dominated physically and mentally. 99 Gator spelled it out perfectly above. I would seriously consider giving the O and D line the week off and put them on the weight room only. Wear their @$$ out. The lack of strength at their size and lack of ability to get any push is appalling.

don't worry guys. its just Florida fans being Florida fans. classless and clueless per usual

if anything we went and got the switch ourselves, put it in their hands, pulled down our own pants, and said thank you sir may I have another, not once, but 6 times, plus a safety. So really 7 total. as far as beatdowns, we were never close, not because of their abilities to score, but because of our ineptness to get out of our own way the entire night.

So what if we wuda had 600yds of total Offense?

What does it matter when you look the way our guys did? Didn't look talented, or inspired, or even competent from the coaches down to the players. We made ourselves look like a family trying backyard football for the 1st time and made UF look like the New England Patriots.

It don't really matter after a performance like that how many yards we had. Not like we came up just short or were just out talented.

Hell Pruitt couldn't even kick the dry erase board without looking like an uncoordinated old man.

I guess we can agree to disagree. Question? How do you take a team that had Florida beat until the final seconds last year and then virtually the same team the next year look completely unprepared and fundamentally lost? Between last year and this year certainly we did not lose talent. The answer is the ball coach

This is my biggest disappointment... we have regressed from last year imo. If we have such a wonderful staff we shouldn’t see this type of drop off... we should be at least have been competitive
