Better next year??

Talent will be about the same next year...I think we improve if we swap out a few offensive coaches and open up the playbook with a better passing QB

We will lose a lot of talent. The QB situation is a complete unknown , which probably bodes poorly for us. And just because the OL is returning, we all know that's not the same as being better. They could be the same or worse based on what we saw this year when they were all returning and supposed to be so good.

So... when all 5 were healthy they weren't very good?
Edit: I Iknow they got pushed around pretty bad the 1st couple of games but even losing a few were still good during A&M game. Hall came back and Thomas was healthy that helped alot.

We haven't thrown the ball remotely well in four years. JG could be a revelation in that department, and with Kelly and Ty Chandler and a very good OL, our offense might actually be better. Will need a new OC though.

Defense up front is where the concern is.

Nope. Inexperience at QB, loss of Hurd, Kamara, Barnett, Sutton, JRM, Dobbs, etc. Just hope we are healthier.

How is not having JRM and Sutton a loss, they aren't playing this year?

Losing Barnett will be tough no doubt

I don't expect much of a drop-off at RB with Kelly/CFM/Chandler

A lot will depend on QB play and whether our OLine can learn to block.

This sentence alone demonstrates how little you actually follow who plays each game. The best line up that has played this season is Kendrick, Robertson, Weisman, Jones and Hall. The first time we had that lineup was against Florida where we had 498 yards of total offense and 319 passing yards. Good job O line. Before that we were starting an injured Coleman Thomas at center (who came in when he was finally healthy against A&M and played well), Drew Richmond a first time starter at LT (actually his first game at LT since he was RT in high school), Robertson next to him (and it was indicted by insiders that at time he neglected his assignments to help Richmond), Weisman at RG and Kendrick at RT.

This offensive line should be very stout next year considering Thomas (now healthy) will be taking graduated Wiseman's spot at C, and seasoned players in Kendrick LT, Robertson LG, Jones RG and Hall RT. Behind them we'll have Boulware helping at guard who's been a nice surprise, Richmond who will have had at least a year of actual playing time now, Austin Sanders G will be back and all of the freshman on the team now (Johnson 6'5 295, Tatum 6'6 270 (will obviously be bigger next year) and Niehaus 6'6 295. Yeah we're losing one starter and we're going to be terrible next year, you're right.

As we see this year there are lots of unknowns. If, if, if all the current players can play next year and we have a few signees to help, I believe the VOLS will be as good or better next year. I look for McKenzie and Tuttle to be very good next year as JRs. We have about 8 DEs deserving playing time this year so we should be very good next year (although prob no AA in Barnett). We are loaded with FR & SO in the defensive backfield.
On offense we keep most all the linemen, RBs are talented and do not have to be AA in this offense. WRs will be better with a better throwing QB and more balanced offense.

The team that has played the last 4 games? Yes. Will it have the same potential as with Sutton, JRM, ect? no.

Beat me to it...Coleman was hobbling at the start of the season...Don't be surprised is we sign Trey Smith in this next class...

They will be a little less experienced next year, but still have talent coming up. The schedule is much better next year, no more 4 tough SEC teams in a row. I don't see us losing more than 4 games, and it is entirely possible that we could win a couple of those.

Our #1 biggest issue will be finding another DE that can breakout. Of course expecting another Derek Barnett is ridiculous, but we do need someone who can get to the QB, and be disruptive. The most prime canidates for this are Kyle Phillips, Kongbo, Darrel Taylor

We still have 5 games to play. Let's focus on that and not slipping to less than 10-2.

But since you asked...we have been hearing that "younger guys getting experience" crap for 3 years now. Unfortunately, it just hasn't been helpful, because it seems that EVERY year the younger guys are getting a lot of experience.

CBJ and co have to figure out a way to stop the consistent injury train that rolls through Knoxville.

the oline is young---they will be a lot better next year---UT should win the east---fla and ga will be down again with bad offenses.

Why are we assuming JG will be QB?

The OL should be better, should. I don't think we're losing any of them.

12 out of 13 O-line will return...exception Weisman...had a decommit Thursday by big Jordan Tucker leaving Riley Locklear as the only O-line commit for '17 so far. We're still in on Trey Smith...man sure hope we can pull him in.

GO VOLS...GET WELL SOON!

How do you see that, with Eason returning to UGA? UGA also has a incoming freshman Jake Fromm 4-star. FL will have Felipe Franks as Redshirt FR. I also look for improvement from Mizzou QBs (Locke or Zanders)

A lot better? Experience is great, but is the talent there? Will have to see it to believe it.

One thing that appears to be overlooked is fl ga and prob sc and mizzu will be improved next year. It'll be tough for them to be as bad as they are this year. So I figure about a 3rd place finish in the east next year

So everyone else gets better with a year of experience but us? Makes sense. 💩💩💩💩

Sight your reasons?
Nearly the same OL that will be iimproved (esp the backups!)
Possibly a better passing QB, so that won't be a hinderance, and some decent backs and virtually rthe same WRs.
On defense yeah you lose stud players, but a still very good DL and Kirkland and Jumper back and most of the secondary.
This team is losing several KEY players but not the house.
