Okay, let me get some thoughts on my chances of winning this. My son is currently a sophomore at FSU and is obviously excited for football to start in Tallahassee. I have stepped out in support of Tyler Bray and said I believe, stat wise only, he will have a better year than E.J. Manuel. He laughed me out of the room.
I don't believe Bray is the next great qb but do believe he is talented and will have a good year. Did I let me heart override my head???

E.J. Manuel will have a better supporting cast (no offense to the Vols), so you're at the disadvantage there.

Did you guys specify just passing stats? Rushing stats? Manuel has some mobility to him.

Will all of Manuel's picks factor into the equation (He was 4 and 4 last season, TDs/Ints).

Why? He certainly has the potential. Don't sell him too short.

Manuel has some advantages...better team surrounding him and weaker opponents. But, it's been a while since FSU had a QB that was truly dominant. Even Ponder stunk up the joint on plenty of occasions and that was just last year.

But...and a big one...if the final half of last year was not an aberration, I'll bet on Bray. Great OL and receivers.

Manuel DID beat South Carolina last season, which Bray failed to do.

Not a fair statement. Bray didn't have a real opportunity to beat South Carolina. He didn't even get a chance at QB until Simms was taken out last year which was in the 3rd quarter of that South Carolina game. He promptly tossed 2 touchdowns and almost brought us from behind to beat South Carolina. Given a full game, I think the result might have been different. To be fair, Bray had less than a half game to "beat S. Car".

Yep, I'll concede that he didn't get much of a chance to beat them.

Manuel played against a Lattimore-less S. Car team for a bit of his game as well.

I would say Manuel has a better season this season, but Bray will blow him away next year. There is a reason Bray is projected to go high in the 2013 draft. Where is Manuel expected to be picked?
