Who are your favorite wide receivers at UT since 1980?

Here's mine, but not in any particular order.

Willie Gault
Tim McGee
Alvin Haprer
Carl Pickens
Craig Faulkner
Cory Fleming
Joey Kent
Marcus Nash
Jermaine Copeland
Peerless Price
Donte Stallworth
Kelley Washington
Robert Meacham

One exception is at tight end:
Jason Witten

The majority of the WR's made their names because of the QB's at UT. There were some good one's from the 1980's to 2000. The best was Peyton Manning even though the only National Championship was in 1998 wth Tee Martin.

If you could pick 4 from the above list which ones would you take?

Based on talent, Eric Parker. Just couldn't stay healthy.
D. Moore
Cedrick Wilson made some HUGE catches over his career. He was good enough to play as a true Freshmen in 97.

Picking 4 off that list.
Gault
Harper
Pickens
Peerless

CP should be top five on this chart and yes I know he was only here one year. He was and still is a once every ten years talent.

Joey Kent is probably my favorite with Pickens a close second. As great as Manning was he was better when Kent was on the field.

I've never seen any of them run in the open field the way Patterson could.

Must be too young to have ever seen Gault. Open field running for him was a straight line. He was fast enough to not need moves.

Cordarrell Patterson

CP doesnt even belong on the list. He may be (and probably is) the best pure athlete to play for us, but he is not the best WR, not even close.

He's the most exciting player ive ever seen.

Considering I started watching TV (and thus UT) at the age of ~5, in '85 (man I'm getting old), Carl Pickens will always hold a place with me. First elite WR at UT I remember.

Odd that more of these guys didn't go on to become great at the NFL level.

We've probably got the names covered at this point but I'm with the group that doesn't think CP actually belongs on the list as a position player. He's far too much (still, even in the NFL) a Devin Hester type. He's absolutely breathtaking once the ball is in his hands...however, he was and still is lacking in the true WR skills that get the ball in his hands via passes from QB's with any consistency.

If I were to pick one off that list it'd be Pickens.

Then there are the ones never talked about that were good in the NFL, like David Martin and Anthony Miller

FYI

Here are the facts. Tennessee’s Top Ten Wide Receivers from a career reception standpoint are:
1. Joey Kent 183 (1993-1996)
2.Marcus Nash 177 (1994-1997)
3.Cedrick Wilson 159 (1997-2000)
4.Peerless Price 147 (1995-1998)
5.Gerald Jones 142 (2007-2010)
6.Jayson Swain 126 (2003-2006)
7.Robert Meachem 125 (2004-2006)
8.Thomas Woods 124 (1986-1989)
9.Tim McGee 123 (1982-1986)
10.Larry Seivers 117 (1973-1976)

Outside of these ten guys you could list anyone:

Alvin Harper. Carl Pickens, Vince Moore, Terence Cleveland, Anthony Miller. Anthony Morgan, Joey Clickscales, Craig Faulkner, Vince Moore, Brett Smith Donte Stallworth, Denarius Moore, Kelley Washington, Anthony Hancock, Willie Gault, Richmond Flowers, Cory Fleming, Jermaine Copeland and the list goes on and on and on

I will go with Kent,Pickens Harper and Nash

I'm not saying hes the best WR. The OP asked "who are your favorite wide receivers at UT since 1980" after he used the word best in the title. So I'm not excatly sure what we're supposed to be doing here. But just looking at the OPs list, thats the first name that I noticed that wasn't on there.

You missed the most talented of them in Anthony Miller.
