Best UT quarterback not named Peyton

Jimmy Streader, Conridge Holloway, Tony Robinson,Jim Bob Cooter (oops greatest name ever) Josh Dobbs, Casey Clausen, Bobby Scott, Pat Ryan,

Mine go in this order, and not based on time played, just ability at their peak. After #2 it gets dicey ...
#1 Sheriff
#2 Shuler
#3 Holloway
#4 Dobbs
#5 Robinson
#6 Kelly
#7 Bray
#8 Ainge
#9 Clausen
#10 Martin

... Sure glad we have an off season thread to make us forget we're still playing this season.
...

So many good ones thru the years, Bobby Scott, Dewey Warren, Bubba Wyche, nobody could escape a tackle like Condredge Hollaway. Shular was a pure winner, no way I can pick a best.

The QB I would most liked to have seen play a full year (Colquitt / he was a smooth operator).
Clausen was simply a winner (road warrior for sure, but the Arky OT game, wow!) his career was punctuated with big time wins.

Clausen wasn't pretty doing his job, but he had guts. He was a winner. Him and Andy Kelly have always been my favs behind Peyton.

He sure was gutsy. One of my favorite memories as a Vol fan was 03 Bama game, was there for it and was awesome.

Andy Kelly was the first QB where I really understood the game as a kid. I had a #8 jersey and tore it up in the yard as a 9 yr old. Oh the memories

Oh man, Colquitt was heartbreaking. You know, I've heard that the qb battle between him and Heath was one if the most agonizing decisions Phil/Cut ever made. They were that close.

Some say Colquitt actually graded out higher but they went with Shuler's intangibles.

Sammy Strang Nicklin...look him up if you aren’t familiar with him. Great athlete and team captain from the 1896 and 1897 teams.

During my years as a fan I have to say Robinson, Kelly and Shuler top my list (OF COURSE NOT COUNTING THE GREATEST AN OF ALL TIME). Kelly was awesome in his pro league. Shuler got millions to go play in DC and Robinson was nationwide known even making the cover of S.I.

Clausen=2005 -Tenn down 21-0 at halftime, comes back to tie #4 LSU and win in 3 ot's. Maybe the best game I've ever seen.

Shuler finished 2nd in the Heisman so his talent was obviously recognized by plenty of people outside the UT fan base. I think Dobbs is a bit underrated for the inverse reason Martin is a bit overrated. The former had to carry a much greater burden for the team to succeed than the latter.

From an absolute raw talent standpoint TRob was insanely gifted.

I kind of look back at the older days but for me it would be a toss up between Dewey"The Swamp Rat" Warren or Condredge Hollaway.
