I live in Memphis and a buddy of mine said last week that Memphis was the best football team in the state this year. I told him to GTFO...after watching games all day, including tigers-bearcats, maybe he was right.
I hate to admit it, but your buddy is right. I saw Memphis play Ole Miss in Jordan-Hare; that game was extremely close until the fourth quarter.
They did a lot of rolling-pocket stuff to give the QB more time to throw.
Their defensive line is extremely undersized, but they made for for that disadvantage, by using a modified 3-4. They brought an LB down to the DE position, and keep flipping him from strong to weak--that is coaching.
Right now, Memphis would beat our Vols (and Florida too).

Tennessee is the best in the state. No questions asked. I am not a Tennessee homer, but there is no way that Memphis would beat us this year.
Comparing teams by how they played another team is just stupid.
If that's the case that Memphis played Ole Miss close, then Memphis would DEFINITELY play Alabama close!!:banghead2:
