I live in Memphis and a buddy of mine said last week that Memphis was the best football team in the state this year. I told him to GTFO...after watching games all day, including tigers-bearcats, maybe he was right.

I hate to admit it, but your buddy is right. I saw Memphis play Ole Miss in Vaught-Hemingway ; that game was extremely close until the fourth quarter.

They did a lot of rolling-pocket stuff to give the QB more time to throw.

Their defensive line is extremely undersized, but they made for for that disadvantage, by using a modified 3-4. They brought an LB down to the DE position, and kept flipping him from strong to weak--that is coaching.

Right now, Memphis would beat our Vols (and Florida too).

Sorry but the transitive property doesn't work.

We'd probably be favored by 4 on a nuetral field. Memphis is decent this year

Tennessee is the best in the state. No questions asked. I am not a Tennessee homer, but there is no way that Memphis would beat us this year.

Comparing teams by how they played another team is just stupid.

If that's the case that Memphis played Ole Miss close, then Memphis would DEFINITELY play Alabama close!!:banghead2:

Memphis beat Butch's upperclassmen at Cincinnati by 27 points on the road.

I've seen every game Memphis has played this year, with the exception of Austin Peay. I wouldn't say they would beat us, because you never know how the breaks would go. But they are every bit as good as we are. We have better raw talent, but they are a salty bunch on defense. They are EXTREMELY WELL COACHED. They have real deal kind of guy in Fuente. And they have a 6-7 QB that is coming into his own.

They lost their best player (DE) and their leading rusher, and depth is a serious problem (as it is at most smaller programs). So imo it would be a toss up game. My hate for all things Memphis is well documented, but they aren't your daddy's Tigers. Thankfully Pastner still sucks lol.

Imagine the last 10 years of CFB for a UT/Memphis fan! It's been horrible. The city is definitely excited for the way football is going. Hopefully it continues Saturday night vs. Hosuton. Libertybowl should be pretty full if weather cooperates. When's the last time you could say that without UT, Ole Miss, or the Southern Heritage in town?

UT would curb stomp Memphis, record be damned. We played a UF we should have beat. Plain and simple but didn't. It is what it is and I know the players feel it more than the fans. I remember when I played ball in college the loss killed us because of the time we had invested. While it stings for the fans, these kids are dying inside(trust me).

Talking about the OC and blaming him is pointless considering what he has to work with. Let coach B get a full 2 years of recruiting behind him before you start calling for his head.

Think about it, coach J took so much criticism last year because the D was terrible but look at what he has done with just one year of getting players to fit his system. Coach B put the game plan together for UGA and we put a ton of points on the board. Fact average fans should understand is this offense will work but we are missing players to make it work.

When your line can't open lanes for a back to run you make your offense one demensional and it's easy to scheme them. Lighten up please. This offense is going to click and click well and the wins will come rolling in. Truth be told, we played a better defense in UF than we did verses UGA
