(Reuters) - Walt Disney Co is in talks with pay-TV provider DirecTV to renew a contract that could result in channels like ABC and ESPN being blacked out as early as Sept. 1 if an agreement between them is not reached, Bloomberg News reported on Monday.

Satellite television provider DirecTV is looking to ease contract terms that have traditionally required cable and satellite-TV distributors to charge customers for channels like ESPN, regardless of whether they watch it, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the discussions.
I have espn+ through Verizon & I know how to get anything I want on Firestick so I’m not worried.

I left YTTV because they dropped coverage of the Astros (non negotiable for me). I went to Fubo which is a great service, but it has literally tripled in price in 2 years. When MLB post season is covered on regular networks, I’m back to YTTV.

Streaming preferences can be such a headache. I've jumped between services like Hulu, YTTV, and others, and each has quirks. Hulu's interface was also frustrating for me, and while YTTV was solid, they dropped a few channels I liked. Lately, though, I've been leaning more toward alternative options. Sometimes, I'll use free platforms for movies or shows I don't want to commit to with a subscription.

I've checked out 123 movies a few times for shows and movies. It's great when you want to watch something without signing up or paying. You should give it a look.

Just need one more strip of foil on the antenna wire and that will get you cleared right up.

I’ve had Directv Stream for years and like it & have never had any issues. With smart tv’s (Roku or Fire) you don’t need a box and the dvr is cloud based. We run the app on our smart tvs in our camper when we’re on trips. We get Max for free with our internet and Hulu/Disney+/Espn+ free with our cell service.
I've eliminated disney and espn from my viewing and it's been tough for us MMA fans. If netflix gets the rights to the UFC, that's where I'm headed.

Just switched from YTTV to Hulu. Interface is clunky but from a cost perspective it will be worth it. I get Disney+ and ESPN+ for the same price as YTTV since they raised the price this month.

My son has YouTube TV and I ended up going with DirecTV streaming. I liked the fact that you get a remote with DirecTV with a true 30 second skip button as well as fast forward as opposed to the awful Apple remote that seems to do a 30 second skip or pause every other time I press it. The only thing I like better about YTTV is the split screen where you can watch multiple games. However, you have zero control over which games you are seeing. I believe DirecTV will add that as its offered on the dish version. Quality is the same and DirecTV stream was a little cheaper. DTV has unlimited DVR hours.

Anyone had FUBO? I have YTTV and would like someone who have had both to tell me their thoughts.

I always thought DTV stream was a decent amount more than YTTV. I know it use to be.

I think it has been about 6-7 years I have had YTTV. Yeah, it is not as cheap as it once was, but I came from cable and then DirecTV, where I was paying close to $300/month once you include HBO and the extra boxes I had to have for each TV.

Switched over to YTTV and never looked back. I have smart TVs, so no need for additional boxes, and am paying about $97/month for YTTV + HBO Max. Yeah, I have all the other streaming channels (Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Peacock, Paramount + Showtime, Disney bundle, etc), but I'd have those either way, so they are net neutral.

YTTV has never given me any issues. If my internet goes down (very rarely) I just use my phone as a hotspot. Can't see myself ever going back to cable/satellite. I have been playing recently about moving to Fubo because of the sports, but not done it yet...may take a free trial sometime as 4K looks to be standard on Ultimate package.
I have Fubo and love it. However without TNT and TBS, I have to add Sling a couple of times for baseball playoffs and March madness. So, with YT getting a Braves fan duel package, I am going to do a trial.

Did I miss this? I haven't seen anything about it coming to YTTV.

It definitely is. Still no RSNs on YTTV.
Are you sure? I saw this....looks like it is an add on subscription, but according to this, Fan Dual Sports Network = Ballys:

EDIT: Nevermind...reading more, there is a difference between Fan Dual TV and Fan Dual Sports Network....have to make things complicate.

I didn’t understand it either. I guess there’s a difference between their network and the RSNs that they just have naming rights for.

The good news is at least FDSN offers a standalone subscription. So, it will be possible to subscribe to the regional sports package.
