Best RB in UT history and most underrated RB?

I shed a man tear on cheeses last carry at Neyland, and they had a video of his career on the jumbotron. Easily my fav Vol of all-time. Big, big, big Henry fan here

Best I hafta say Jamal Lewis slightly over Chuck Webb
Underrated Travis Stephens no doubt underrated what he did to Florida made him one of my all time favorites.
Henry has to be up there also for what he did after the Clint Stoerner fumble, man was on a mission.

Tony Thompson runs wild in SEC - 1990 - YouTube

He has been mentioned several times, but Tony Thompson is rarely mentioned when discussing great Tennessee running backs.

I think it is obvious to anyone who watched Chuck Webb. If he had not been injured, he may have gone down as the greatest back to ever play college (whew). Speed, vision, power, moves.

Best was Interchangeable of CobbWebb backfield. Most underrated in my lifetime I would say Cedric Houston.

Best: Jamal Lewis

Most Underrated: Arian Foster (Simply because people can't seem to remember how good he was because of his "fumbling problem.")

Webb was the best
Charlie Garner split time with 2 other backs, he was absolutely dynamic. I think fans forget just how good he was.

OT: I would put Foster as the most abused

Best: Webb or Lewis
Lewis was unreal before the knee injury.

Underrated: My dad :dance2:

After much deliberation...
Best - Johnnie Jones, the only RB to have back to back 1000 yard seasons in school history. Plus, he didn't mind a little contact.

Underrated - James Stewart, nah...Curt Watson...nope it's Beattie "Big Chief" Feathers, first RB to rush for 1000 yards in the NFL.

Lewis was a peice of crap his last games at UT....ran into the line and fell down......looking for the NFL......and then was a drug dealer...............TRUTH!

Chuck Webb by a mile for the best I've seen.

Underrated is going to an interesting discussion. I could see Little Man Stewart and Travis Stephens in the argument, but to put a spin on the idea, I am going to throw Travis Henry in the mix. At the end of his career he started to get recognition, but for much of his time in Knoxville all you heard about was Jamal Lewis. I had a friend who made a brilliant observation that we had one running back that started and another that produced.

Definitely Webb.

I remember that Lewis got hurt his sophomore year and the two Travises took over and ran us to a national championship. I think my favorite run was in the 2000 Arkansas game at Neyland. Cheese (remember that nickname?) got through the line, got to the sideline and was off to the races. The one Ark player who had a chance took a perfect angle and I thought he would knock Henry OB, but Cheese stiff armed him and he went airborne, while Cheese didn't seem to even be affected at all. It was the most awesome stiff arm ever.
