Growing up following Illinois sports, I have witnessed coaches use the 'fighting illini' as a stepping stone program. As a Tennessee fan I never once expected it, but once I heard Carroll going to Seattle, my first thought was if Sarkisian didn't accept Kiffin would be gone and we would have a "stepping stone program" on our hands. One thing led to another, and my hunch came true. I am not angry at all, and I hope you guys arn't either. Riots and what not are ridiculous. He brought in two top 10 recruiting classes for us following 5 and 7 win seasons. What other coach could have done that for us? ...as well as land Bryce Brown and co. that we all call part of our family right now. I thank Lane for what he did for us, and as much as I don't agree with his decision it is what is best for him. What we need to do now is find a coach for the long haul, and it won't be hard seeing as it is SEC, top dollar, and full of prime recruits. I say let it go on Kiffin, and move on. Cheer against him, what have you, but it isn't that big of a deal.

he brought in 1 good recruiting class because this one isnt done yet, as of right now we have about 4 EE's in the class the rest of it seems to be falling apart.

He brought in 1 top ten recruiting class and is working hard to disassemble the one UT has in place now.

He ran off tons of players that will leave UT ridiculously thin and left only a 3 week window to try to bring in a full class. UT will be very thin for a couple of years at least.

With everything he has done and said the last year about building a championship program we will all be mad at him for a long time. The late night team meeting and press conference (which he very nearly cancelled) along with the recruiting impropriety here at the end will ensure he's a hated man around these parts for a long time.

It might be a good thing, if he was this big a weasel its probably better that he's gone but it's hard to know who to replace him with.

I agree that losing Kiffin, as a head coach, isn't that big of a deal but losing the recruiting ability of that staff will hurt if Hamilton doesn't bring in a HC with recruiting ability. Kippy will serve us well in that capacity and if we get the right HC we will be alright in the long run. There's no reason to burn or riot just because a coach who has only been here one year, and yet not proved anything, is leaving. Looks as if ole Al Davis was right on the money with this cat. Sorry for the grief that I gave you Al!!
Orgeron just lost a lot of credibility with recruits if indeed he was texting EE's to tell them not to report to classes in the morning. He should have known better. A kids emotions after being lied to cement opinions real fast........and he's turning into a major piece of #$&! about now in their eyes. I can only hope that the NCAA takes away bowl appearances and scholly's from USC and Kiffin and Co. lose on a consistent basis. I'll be rooting against them and they have officially replaced Florida and Ohio St. as my most hated team.

He probably destroyed the 10' recruting class. If he wanted to go back to USC then whatever, but it couldn't have come at a worse time. I hope he commits enough NCAA voilations to recieve the death penalty for USC.

Does all the violations he gave UT go with him?lol

Well I never thought I would say this but Al Davis was right.

This cuts deep, I hope karma will come back to haunt the S.O.B.

I am basing the 2 top 10 classes statement on the fact we hire a somewhat top notch coach (Muschamp/Dungy/Gruden/etc.) and that the vast majority of commits stay on board. I doubt we lose many in the long run if we hire a respectable coaching staff. Even willis who has already de-committed, I doubt he would turn down Muschamp and a solid cast of position coaches. (again possibilities)

He is trying to take this recruiting class to USC. He can kiss my ass. If I get banned for this, so be it.

He can kiss mine, too.

I have never wanted a program to be put on probation more than I want USC to now.

Sweet, I didn't get banned yet  You da man Vader :) I really hope he fails miserably at USC. Had he left on a better note, I would wish him success. Leaving 20 days before Signing day and trying to take our recruits? Nope. Suck it Kiffen

"We're leaving here, 14 months later, a lot better team than we were 14 months ago."

This is the biggest lie Kiffin told us. When Kiffin was hired, we were a proud program that needed a boost to return to its winning ways. The 2010 recruiting class will probably go down as one of the biggest disasters in UT football history. We are in far worse shape as a program than when he was hired.

If you don't think losing Ed O as a recruiting specialist he is, you're retarded. Look at the talent he brought into USC and Ole Miss. The guy is in the top 2-3 of recruiting specialists in the country.
