After that sack Hooker threw some passes that missed the mark. I was sure he was hurt and was just trying to gut through it.
Looked like he got the air knocked out of him. I was crapping myself when I saw that db flying around the edge

I called that safety blitz before the snap. Sampson is special with the ball in his hands but we can’t afford to risk him in pass pro. No harm done thank goodness but he needs to get to work on his blitz recognition.
Yeah he messed up Hooker on that...

Agree. He’ll be top tier when he learns how to block

I think he had the wind knocked out of him but I think it knocked his timing off mentally more than physically. Seemed to rush it for about the next 4-6 passes

That safety blitz is Hooker's guy to see just like a corner blitz. Sampson picks up the backers and Hooker should pick up the safety and find the blitz beating hot route quickly.
If Sampson had enough situational awareness he could have at least attempted a block instead of the guy coming untouched. There was no other blitz on the play. He just stood there eyes down field instead of head on a swivel. At least he was able to recover and make a positive play but it could have been a lot worse. It’s easy for me to criticize from my couch lol. I’m just saying he’ll be awesome once he has more experience

Sampson picks up whoever the free man is. If LB drops and Safety blitzes, Safety is now his man. But idk how Hooker didn't see him coming.

Pass blocking seems to be the most difficult thing for a young rb to pick up. Sampson will learn a lesson from that play.
