Best LB in UT history and most underrated LB?

Big Al Wilson for me...best I can remember since 1979...Al could blitz, play the run, and cover the slot guy down the middle...honorable mention to Craig Puki, and Keith Delong...

Most underrated is Mike "Stop" Cofer! He was the Jevon Kearse before there was a Jevon Kearse. Huge outside LB who could play...had a long NFL career with the Lions...

Al Wilson-Best

Keith Delong-underrated...he was an All American but is rarely mentioned and the guy was a monster

Best Al Wilson
Underrated--Daryl Hardy or Todd Kelly (feel like Kelly was used more as DE at UT rather than LB)

All these are terrific, but Tom Fisher may have been the best of all had he not been killed in a car wreck before his senior year.

My favorite- Noch.. Dude was fearless and never gave up.. I remember being at a game when I was young... The other team was winning and were n victory formation, about to take a knee.. Raynoch dove over the line when the qb got the ball and drilled him.. When most sane individuals would've given up, he was still trying.. I hadn't seen anyone do that before at the the time.. Thought it was awesome.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have mentioned this several times to family/friends and none of them remember this. He was such a bad man!

Best: Al Wilson. When he didn't make plays he was inspiring the rest of the D to.

Underrated: Gotta go with my high school position coach, Kelly Ziegler.

For you young pups to consider:
Mike Lucci
Paul Neumoff
Both belong with Hacksaw/Kiner at the top.

Jackie Walker was the best "pound for pound" but his size limited his recognition.

Gaither was the most under-rated in my humble opinion.

Is he still coaching? Last time I seen him was a couple of years ago at the Clarksville association of referees steak dinner.
