Ryan Karl was way under appreciated. In my lifetime the most exciting to watch for myself has been Raynoch Thompson. Best overall Al Wilson.

Why are people saying that Mayo was underrated? He was mentioned all the time during broadcasts, esp 2006

Not the way he should've been.. I didn't realize how good he was at the time.. Now every time I see his old games, I can't stop watching him on every defensive play.. He's good..

All of the above - good posts. Changed my number to Kiner's in HS - wanted to play just like him. Hacksaw had a great career. Al, Raynoch, Jerod, Jackie, Craig - those ae some names there! I would say we may have one or two in our current group to add to the list in the coming years.

Al was the best...Eddie Moore was underrated

Here is a Video of Al...Make sure you turn the volume up to hear him at the beginning...gets me jacked up every time! Leonard Little is in the video also....watch the block Al throws around the 1:50 mark

Hard to go against two time All American Steve Kiner although I really respect Al Wilson. A couple of great ones were killed in car wrecks before their careers were over ...Tom Fisher was a great LB and probably would have been a 2time All American @ Tennessee but he died coming back from spring break and Andy Spiva was a great LB in the mid 70s and played with the Falcons when he was killed.

Underrated LB- Jamie Rotella

I think Kiner was better in college than Reynolds, but Reynolds had a better pro career. I had a class with Tom Fisher (the guy who was killed in a car wreck) and the talk around campus was that he would have been better than both Kiner and Reynolds! Too bad that we didn't get to see him.

Underrated: I would have to go with Reveiz. He was a pretty solid player.

Al Wilson best - no doubt on that one

underrated - I am going for Kburnett

Mayo was the 10th pick in the draft so hard to say underrated

Craig Puki = Best

Jack 'Hacksaw' Reynolds = most underappreciated

Through a mutual friend, I got to spend some time with Jack back 4-5 years ago. He can barely walk thanks to all the old football injuries. More from his Rams / 49er days than Vols. Rather sad....

Great guy!!!

I remember after a good play by Craig the whole stadium would say PUUUUUUUUUUKIIIIIIIIIII it was awesome.

Al is the best imo

Under rated would be, imo, Robert Peace and Kevin Simon. I think that was one of the most solid LB corps we've ever had at tennessee.
