I was stuck on B/R for a few minutes so I decided to check out some articles. I came across something that struck me as somewhat high. The writer called our LB group one of the best if not the best in the COUNTRY.

Where do you project they end up production wise as a group? Top 5 Top 10?

If everyone stays healthy and lives up to their billing, they have the potential to be pretty darn good.

Are you sure? I'm not sure how anyone who knows anything about our team could seriously think that. Especially not at this moment.

100% sure, he was pretty confident in making that statement. I know its reading but one can usually tell when a writer gets excited just writing something.

I see you post around the football forum(s) a lot. Are there 5 to 10 teams with better cores than UT? I know the talent is there but with having to learn on the fly one would think that Top 5 will be tough much less best in the country.

We have players at LB to be very good but if they end up top 5 in the country then CDD & staff did a excellent job of recruiting and coaching them up.

Especially since 2 of our best will only be true Sophs this season but anything is possible and with CSS running the D and coaching our LB's I have high hopes.

VFL...GBO!!!

It is hard to believe that there are not at least 10 other schools in the country with a better LB corps than us....just sayin

Sal and the 3-4 is the best thing to happen to this D in a long time. AJ and Curt are future all americans imo, Lathers is a beast if healthy and I think we'll all see the Jaq we've been hoping for with the move to LB. We have a decent stable of back ups as well. I'm so damn pumped for this season to start already!!!

I think everyone needs to understand that CDD recruited these guys all as linebackers...he wanted to move to the 3-4 but you know the rest of that story...Im sure that most were to young to play a 3-4 because of 3 S ---size - strenght -speed....we needed the line to be-able to keep the OL off the LB feet..

We need to be pumped...its going to be fun to watch

The best is a real stretch. Everyone has an opinion, but they need another year and some more depth to reach the top 2 or 3 in the SEC.

It's always such a let down to see things like this, only to find out that it came from the bleacher report

Just a dream, but wouldn't it be nice if we could live up to all the expectations just once....not saying we won't be good already, but dang, come out and win 12 and just be GOOD EVERY GAME!

I am hoping Fugate can step it up a little. He has the ability, just needs to get focused.

The way I see it is if the LBs can stay healthy and live up to potential, they can easily be top 5 in the SEC. And I don't believe its outlandish to suggest that a top 5 LB corp in the SEC is comparable to top 10 in the country. The SEC is defense country. We play big boy D. At every level. D-Line, Linebacker, Secondary... The SEC has the best units you will find.
