Best hotels to stay at close to Neyland

Last time I actually stayed at a hotel for a game I stayed in Lenoir City then drove to the game from there. Short drive and way cheaper. I'm fortunate enough to have a good friend in Knoxville that lets me stay at his house now though.

There are quite a few options downtown (Hilton, Hyatt, Holday Inn, Hampton Inn), but as mentioned they are more expensive. It might be worth it though being able to walk to stadium and around downtown for entertainment. There is a Hilton Garden Inn and Four Points by Sheraton on campus. There is a newer Holiday Inn Express located in West Knoxville a few miles from downtown with easy access to interstate too.

What is your price range? Are you wanting walking distance and be downtown in the atmosphere or is close and a 10-15 uber ok?

Hotel Oliver is my 1st choice the probably Hyatt Place

You’ll save money by staying out off cedar bluff and just Uber to and from the game. Uber’s are hard to find immediately after the game, but I assume you want to be close so you can partake in any post game festivities in an alcohol serving establishment that may be going on. In which case you will have little issue finding an Uber.

Is it just me or do the rooms at that hilton garden seem tiny?

Check hotels near the airport in Alcoa. Some may have higher game day rates or minimums, but they are overall less expensive or at least were in the past. Stay away from the hourly/weekly dumps right on Alcoa Hwy/US129, though. About a 20 minute drive into town, easy straight shot.

I know a lot of people who stay on merchants drive or Emory road at the Holiday Inns. Very easy travel to and from the games.

The quality inn off merchants has been pretty good for us 5 miles from the stadium reasonably priced and they have a game day shuttle for 20 bucks a o Charlys in front and a pretty good Mexican restraunt walking distance
