Best High School Player Seen

Logan Eggleston from Brentwood High School is the most dominant high school athlete I have ever seen in volleyball or any sport. She was a pro in high school.
John Henderson was the best I have ever seen in football.
Corey Brewer was the best I have seen in basketball.

Eric Westmoreland when he was at Marion County was crazy good.
Cedrick Wilson was great to watch as well.

Didn't get to see him play in HS but a good friend of mine grew up in Huntsville and played against Condredge Holloway and said he was great at FB, BB and baseball. Could have gone pro out of HS in baseball if he had wanted to but fortunately for the TN he wanted to be an SEC QB and Bill Battle was the only coach who promised him the opportunity. Other coaches wanted to sign him as a RB or receiver.
I saw Holloway play in HS. He was great. Lee beat one of Franklin County's best teams of all time, 14-7

My high school was undefeated going into the state semifinal against John Henderson. The fans were all confident, but big John shut us out. Wrecked everything.

Not a name that many will remember, but I remember being really impressed with a running back in the early to mid-90's from Millington named Marlon Barnes. Ended up going to Colorado, I think.

You go to Dyersburg?

John Henderson was incredibly physically imposing back in high school. A mountain of a man who could run and move well.

Dontae Jones would be the basketball answer. Seemed more "grown" on the court than most kids @ that time...

The Nashville Talent was awseome.

Hardin County High School, class of ‘98. We played y’all twice in ‘97, but you would’ve been gone by then I guess. We played y’all in quarterfinals in ‘97 playoffs, then y’all spared us a beat down and lost to Pearl Cohn the next week. 100 years ago 😅

As far as hoops it was Chris Peoples out of Millington. Sad story. He couldn’t be stopped by anybody in HS, AAU or on Memphis courts when he was 16. Legendary reputation. Had a rough upbringing and just couldn’t get away from it.

I was gone, but still kept up and came back to town. For a few years there, it seemed like it was us and you guys in region 7 and no one else. You're right about that Beat down. There was no way either of our teams were beating Pear Cohn. Lol

Hey karmazone, if you’re still around Dyersburg , ask some of the guys who played about 20 years before you about Coco B Ware (the pro wrestler) . He played at Union City. Hit like a train !! Knocked the toughest guy on our team out cold .
No way! I remember watching Koko on Saturday morning wrestling. Doesn't surprise me that he hit so hard.

Guys, this is a Tennessee football forum. The next thing you’ll be asking about will be the Fabulous Ones, the Moon Dogs, Jerry The King Lawler and Andy Kaufman. Blue/font, of course.

To think, I used to think it was all real! Lol

Who are the best High Football players you have watched play in person:

Al Wilson he was playing Safety and was just killing ball carriers. You could just see he was going to be special, speed and furious hits.

Dante Hicky (Spelling?) from Cleveland: saw him play several times and in the KY/TN all-star game. He was electric, played WR and returner but never made it to college because of ???. Best player I've seen in person.

Kelly Holcomb, Chad Henderson and a WR named Grogan on the Lincoln County team in the early 90's-time frame. Kelly would throw a 30-yard dart and you could hear hit the guys in the pads up in the stands. I was surprised Kelly didn't go to a bigger school than MTSU but he had an incredible career. I thought Grogan was the best player on the field, he was a big WR who would catch anything near him and I'm sorry I can't remember his first name, no disrespect intended. I don't think he played college ball anywhere and that was a shame because he was very talented.

Kenny Witherspoon (Spelling) RB I think Stradford High and went to Vandy. He was just smooth and had a Walter Payton type running style, not that he was Walter but just he made moves with no effort, just fun to watch.

I hope I got the names and schools correct. Just my opinion so who is yours?
This one is easy as I played against him: Tim Couch.
