The list is beyond awful. It treats winning a bunch of games at Yale (Crozza) as if it's the same feat as winning a bunch of games in the SEC (Spurrier).

The counterbalance to your argument is the ACC is awful. You can develop more depth, pick up more wins, and have fewer injuries when your backups are better than the rest of the league's starters...

Dabo is great but let's see this for another decade and how he does if a 2nd power in the ACC develops. He wasnt all that when FSU and USC were decent.

That’s a decent read. Based only on win percentage and ranked accordingly. It does give you a good perspective on win percentage. Neyland 8 and defensively must be #1. I thought Eddie Robinson would have been a good honorable mention.

Right? I really hate lists like these but atleast it's cool reading about the old timey coaches.

This might be the dumbest list of any kind posted in my time on Volnation and that's really saying something. I loathe Alabama, but Saban and Bryant not in the top 5 is excruciatingly stupid, regardless of the parameters.

Somebody just tell me where Neyland was ranked. I make it a personal choice to not read articles made up of a bunch of slides---110 ways to hit you with a bunch of ads in this one.

They were different times, but there were coaches in the past where their teams just dominated everyone that played. General Neyland was one of those coaches.

Clemson has historically been a mediocre to good program, so Dabo has, unquestionably, significantly exceeded their previous threshold.

He won't be listed in anyone's all-time great coaching lists but, if you want to talk about someone who truly did an extraordinary job as a head coach, think about what Bill Snyder accomplished at Kansas State. KSU was, for decades, the absolute armpit of college football, but Snyder built them into a program that, over the course of five years, went from 1-10 to 9-2-1 and finished in the top 10 on six occasions from 1995-2002 and, in the top 20, on seven other occasions.
