Best Case Coaching Scenario for all sides

That is actually a pretty solid post. DB coaches must go. Move back to 4-3, sal at LB coach, keep Palermo. Why did we not hire Lance Thompson if we were just going to defensively piss this season away?

Will you tell me what Gruden has done other than win a super bowl with someone else team and get fired.

Man that is the NFL not college you don't recruit players so that thing about that was Tony Dungy team was BS. He optimized what he had and got better results that is what he did. That is what a good coach does. Believe me winning 1 super bowl is A LOT better than being 31 - 39 for your career as a HC. The better question is what has Dooley had done besides loose with his own players

I am convinced that these pro-Dooley's have to be joking, trolling, wanting to be flamed...they CANNOT be serious...can they? Can they!!!!!!!!!?????????(runs away screaming hysterically)

Those who still support Dooley are on here under an alias. They are his mom, dad, accountant, agent, Nick Saban, Will Muschamp, Mark Richt, Steve Spurrier, Les Miles, James Franklin, etc, etc.

Makes no sense to fire Dooley and keep SaL as anything. He is more the problem than Dooley. Kirby Smart is no proven coach. Watching yesterdays Ala. and Miss ST game, whhen a player was in the wrong place on defence, Saban is the one who got in his face and chewed his azz off ,not Smart. Saban controls every aspect of Bamma offence and Defence. Do not kid your self

I was with you until, and stopped reading, when you said dooley needed to stay..

If you were referring to my post, you need to go back and read again. I said nothing about Dooley staying. I said it makes no sense to fire Dooley and keep Sal

Well, let's see....in the Super Bowl he WON, he took a team the Tony Dungy built, but couldn't get to the big game with, then beat a team he coached for and built from the ground up. I would think that would qualify him as an upgrade over our current "coach."

Selecting a coach or two to retain is a waste of time. Fire the entire staff and hire new. If the new head coach wants some of the current assistants than he can hire them but I don't see much there frank;y. We need to make a clean cut and start new. Yes it will be several years but let's do it now rather than later. We can't keep going like this even for the rest of the year. Our D is just AWFUL.

Fire Dooley and the staff. Let's get this thing turned around. 0-5 in the SEC over the last 5 SEC games is not improvement. Keep Jay Graham

c'mon, that 9 million total buy out is not coming out of our pockets. [few on here are donors] let's go get a 5 million man and pass the cost to Haslem. Another 3 million for his staff and for approx. 16 million we have a team we can all be proud to listen to on the tv and radio..

i dont know why we would get rid of anyone on the offensive side of the ball with the numbers we are putting up this season...

I just think a lot of bloggers on here are dreaming..... Is it possible that we will pay $15-$16 million or more to make this move?
I honestly think its possible but very unlikely given how cheap UT has always been with coaches historically (until Fulmers buyout)....

Also, to do this and bring in Charlie Strong or Smart really makes no sense.... With Gruden we really don't know how hard he will recruit.... It's not gonna be a situation where we get a Saban or an Urban Meyer unless I'm way off here.....

You all are bunch of sorry, low life, scum bags. Tell all us what qualifies anyone of you to judge the whole program, just because you WERE a Vol Fan........that right WERE, because one person in his right mind would want to come to a university that the fans act the way all of you, I don't want to nega-Vol, because it would indicate that your a Vol Fan..........I just find all of you disgusting rednecks that don't have a life............FU!

IMO the most impressive part of his resume, besides the Super Bowl of course, is his four year tenure in Oakland. He was 38-26 with an appearance in the AFC championship game and 2 appearances in the AFC Divisional Games. He made it to the playoffs 5 of his 11 seasons as a HC, for what it's worth.

However, they only gave up more than 26 twice that year.

Saban had better talent then Sal did to coming in. Also, as bad as we are could you imagine how much worse it could have been if we hadnt recruited Setimore and Mt. McCullers! We just can't man up anyone at the CB position and other then Randolph are S play is horrible too. Top that with no true person to play the JACK position and you are doomed in the 3-4.

Keep Graham & Pittman and I'm all in.

I've said this b4 but you have to let Gruden decide everyone's fate. I love both guys mentioned here, but you give the keys to Gruden and let him decided how to drive, where to drive too, how fast he wants to get to where he's going, and what direction he wants to travel in to get to where he's headed. If he needs a map supply him with the best of the best GPS. Point being, we provide the money you, Gruden, do whatever it takes, legally, to get us back on top.

He also had a blown call that cost him a Super Bowl appearance against the Pats. He turned Gannon into a very good QB in Oakland. He showed he knows how to coach talent up. Very bright offensive mind.

Best Case Coaching Scenario is for Dooley to be out of a job in Knoxville.

We've been down this road. Dooley changed almost all of his staff last year. Kinda obvious who/what the problem is.

Youre right, its painfully obvious that Sal is the biggest problem this team has.

Dools hired him though and he has to be held accountable for what turned out to be a horrible decision.
