Besides Neyland

I like the atmosphere of the Georgia Dome (when we are there of course). It's freaking insane how loud that building gets.

Only been there for a Falcons game. Generally down on domes but that one is very nice and views from everywhere are great.

Looking forward to going to next year's opener there!

I have never seen a game inside of a dome. What are the plus/minuses to Dome games as opposed to stadium?

Personal preference and probably the quality of the dome. I was at the UT/Syracuse game in the Syracuse dome for the season opener in 1998. One of the best games I ever saw (forgotten of underrated) but the facilities and seats were not very good. Noise was loud but not like Neyland on a big game.

I'm old school and prefer natural stuff. Give me grass, rain and snow. But I can imagine the Super or Georgia dome are pretty awesome especially for the right kind of game. The Georgia dome facilities when I went to a Falcon's game were significantly better than Syracuse.

The GA Dome is probably the nicest dome I've been to. The Superdome is a large structure but the seats are too far removed on the sidelines. The endzone seats are on top of the action.

As Steve said, give me the elements.

Kentucky was kind of sad. I thought the stadium was going to collapse when they jumped up and down during Zombie Nation. The fans were mostly okay, but their were some who were rather annoying. Probably in basketball form.

True. We have good fans, but I'd like to see a renovation sometime. Not enough motivation to do a lot though.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to experience "The Miracle at South Bend". Just walking up to that stadium, especially before they expaned it and added lights, you could just feel the history of that place. Then going on the field after the game and celebrating with the Big Orange was awesome.

It was the SEC Championship game, so everything was a plus in my book. The only minus was it seemed like we were in the next county. The atmosphere for that game was incredible. The noise level was like none I have ever experienced. It was awesome.

I've been to several games in the Ga Dome while living here in Atlanta.....and I hate it. It doesn't matter if it's a day or night game, the lighting is poor, too dark throughout and what light there is looks like the inside of a phone booth.

Having said that, I still plan to be there for Vols vs NCSt.

As for pre-game excitement, nothing nowhere beats an Army-Navy game. I've been to 2 of them, one at the old Meadowlands in NJ (a dump) and the other at the old Veteran's Stadium in Philly (a worse dump), but the pre-game ceremonies were the most exciting and spine-tingling I've ever witnessed.

What other stadiums are a great place to watch a game? I was kinda wondering on the basis of how nice does the stadium look. How about traditions, stadium electricity, and just a fun all around trip?

Just trying to get a feel for some cool road trips in case the vols go.

As much as this pains me to say going to Williams-Brice here in Columbia is a pretty good time. Not only to watch a game but the tailgating is pretty sick as well.

Tailgating is the ONLY decent thing about W-B. The seats are too "flat" (so that each row is further back rather than higher) and it gets a long way from the action. The game experience there is about the same as a 3A high school.

Blacksburg. Made my first trip this season. The campus is really nice and I had an overall good experience. Even rocked a Tennessee hoody :D

Of course it might be different if Tennessee was actually playing there.

My dream list is Baton Rouge and Sound Bend. Wouldn't mind seeing a game in Ann Arbor either.

I heard the crowds at south bend tend to be quite, and I have heard the same thing about nebraska.

Isn't washington and UT the only schools that people show up to the game by boat?
