I count 4 outright for UCLA. princeton won a lot of national titles, are they still one of the top programs in the country?

I actually don't recall anyone making that point before. Now back on topic - do you have anything to say in response or are you avoiding my point.

You have no innate sports anything to fall back on, hence stats (ie a useless list of hs 40 times) and TV commentators are what you're relying upon to develop and then support your view.

No but we're talking about Cal. Once you start winning titles more than once or twice every 30 years people will start respecting you. Just because you haven't had a losing record in a couple of years doesn't mean you are on par with big-time programs.

How could you possible know this? Because I disagree with you? I'd bet I watch more football than most people on this site. And I sure as hell watch more pac-10 football than people on this site.

UCLA is not a big time football program. Big time football programs don't pay their coach at the bottom of NCAA pay levels and don't accept mediocrity. UCLA has NEVER cared about football. They've won some games here and there, and generally get decent talent because they are in LA, but have never made the kind of commitment to football that Cal is currently making.

And I've never said Cal is on par with Tenn as a program. NEVER.

I agree with most of what you said but isn't it weird that they've never cared about football but have more titles than Cal over the last 30 to 40 years?

I'm not an expert and don't claim to be. You've claimed that my analysis is lacking and all I've really claimed is that Cal stinks. Neither you or the football team has done anything to refute that. How is my analysis poor?

Not really, we never cared about football until recently either. With Cal's demographic advantages over all pac-10 schools, but SC and UCLA and our academic reputation, there is no reason why we shouldn't have been better over the years.

We've been rated the #1 public school in the country for 60+ years. Our graduate school is currently ranked #1, public or private. We have 20 Nobel Prize winners. Dare to compare to Tenn?

Cal is great Cal is wonderful. There academics are amazing and the committment they have made to football over the past 5 years is unparalleled.

BTW, if you all are so smart how do you allow the governator to run the state. Besides Cal won't have a team in 20 years because you'll be in Mexico :)

My man arnold has been one hell of a governor and I'm not even joking. We're already in mexico, but that's ok because I love the food.
