Berry

So harsh:cray: I honestly did think Hefney was gone, but all I am saying is we are not to deep at DB.

Corner could be a concern. Fellows has experience, although he was injured last year, and Marsalous Johnson was named most inproved defensive player. Gaines has never played, nor has Kemp. Art Evans had his named called a few times in the Orange & White game, so I see him getting some possible playing time. With the recent run we have had at producing CBs, I think we should be decent, but depth seems to be an issue. If there is an injury I could see Chavis throwing Berry out there for a few sets. At safety it's Hefney and a bunch of guys that have done nothing.

As far as I know, the feeling in K-town is that Berry is going to start. Is this true guys?

No. But serious p/t at slot receiver, punt and kick returner, and backup corner are a possiblity. He will not start game one, unless you consider returner starting. I think Hefney will get the nod at punt returner for Cal, it being on the road and his experience and success, though.

I love how people continue to use the argument of "just look at what has happened in the past" to justify why Berry will not play any on offense. We have never had a player as good as him that fits that versatile role. He is the highest rated ATH to ever commit to UTK. Fulmer and Co. have ATTEMPTED to do it quite a few times but the players were not good enough! If we do not see Berry at WR and even some mustang package it will be because he is not as good at it as we expect. It will not be because the coaches are not creative and willing. If he is as good as we are expecting him to be then he will see some time in those packages, guaranteed.

Assuming he does not get injured, then the chance that Berry is starting at CB by the Cal game (80%) and by the Florida game (99.9%).

Did the entire point of that post miss you or did you not read the whole thing? It was a reaction to the "he wont play offense because Fulmer has never done that before" clan. The point was that if he does not see some time at WR or QB it is because he isnt as good as we are expecting him to be. I haven't annointed him as anything yet.

Gaines played. Remember him letting Bama hit that long pass in 05?

See what I said earlier in this thread about Teddy Ginn at Ohio State. That's another coach known for his buttoned down style.

Marsoulous Johnson will see plenty of playing time because he has ties to Rod Wilkes, who UT is recruiting.

I don't thing they gave him most inproved of the spring just to get Wilkes her, so I believe that is legitimate, so thats why I think he will start. They may have had that in mind after Marsoulous flashed fake steel on I-40 though.

I'll still put it out there. Someone come to me with a O/U number for offensive snaps in 2007 for Eric Berry, and I will wager $1,000 on a number I see fit.

If the O/U was 12, then that would be a dumb wager for me to say under. If the O/U is 50, it's good for both sides.

Betting the over OR the under on the number of offensive snaps a true freshman who has never seen the practice field will take indicates a need for a 12 step program.

I actually haven't gambled since the bowl games. However, when I see easy money, I don't hesitate to go after it.

As you'll notice, only 1 person has ever taken me up on an offer.
