Berry to wear #29

A high school player from my hometown wore his brother's number several years go after he had a blood vessel burst in his head after a game. Wearing another player's number and knowing the reason behind it, is very uplifting to another player.

And I respect your opinion/feelings. But what exactly does seeing his number being worn by another player DO for Inky?

It reminds everyone of Inky and his situation. It reminds everyone that Inky was a Vol and maybe it becomes the impetus for the University or its fans to do something for Inky. Who knows, but it can't hurt.

Anybody heard how Inky is doing Health wise and Did he graduate yet?

I remember hearing talks of him becoming a GA? Is that still true?

I am pretty sure Inky graduated this past spring....

Morley suspended for violation of team academic policy, what an effing surprise.....

Berry is a cool dude... Shame about Morley, I was hoping he would do better. I figured they would of had somebody tutoring him and making him go to class.

I have no feelings one way or the other concerning the athletic department's treatment of Inky. Every football player knows that the risk of grave injury is present at every practice and every game. I am also not trying to be disrespectful of Eric Berry, but it seems like he could wipe his nose on a Kleenex and hand it to some folks and they would feel honored. I guess I'm just trying to say that a football game should be just that and not a chance to wear your heart on your sleeve or make the crowd go "Awwww, how sweet." Just play the dadgum game and play it well. That should be enough for Inky Johnson and ANY true Vol fan.

Did Hat take over your screen name this morning?

MU Tigers seniors take turns wearing Aaron O' Neal's #25 jersey in memory of their fallen team mate. They consider it an honor, not cheesy.

Berry continues to show not only his class as an athlete, he shows class as a young man as well.

Pretty good job of putting some focus back on the players who play the game.

GO VOLS!!!

Inky is an incredible young man. His positive attitude despite the terribly unfortunate injury has been nothing short of an inspiration to everyone who has followed this. I hope every young kid emulates this guy and Berry has done a wonderful thing.....the ultimate tribute from one player to another "fallen" player.....is to wear his number. Kudos to both of you.

Its definitely a cool gesture on Berry's part. Just curious though has Johnson played some type of role in Berry's life?

I really think Eric is doing it to honor Inky but in the back of his mind he is telling us all how many INTs he is going to have when he leaves here. :dance2:
