Some comments from Berry and Morley yesterday that I found interesting:

The guy in the secondary that no one is talking about that they should be talking about? Art Evans

Fastest in the secondary? According to Morley it's Berry. According to Berry it's Morley or Vinson.

Strongest in the secondary? Berry and Willingham

Hardest hitter in the secondary? Berry and Willingham

Best cover guy? Morely, Willingham, Evans and Vinson.

Interesting stuff. I suspect the whole team thing skews the answers, but it was interesting perspective.

Art Evans, huh?

All the guys saying Berry has no need for improvement need to watch the Vandy game on CSS right now. Another offseason to learn will work wonders for him.

Who said that? I'm pretty sure everyone knows that he needs to improve.

we definitely have a delusional crowd who didn't see him out of position, a lot, last season.

Kid's a stud, but he still has to adapt to the speed of the game and strength of the arms he's facing. I think he'll continue to make that adjustment.

His instinct for the ball as a safety is remarkable, but he got burned against the pass.

for people that believe that need to come back to reality, because i remember some plays where he just got flat out burned.

He was more often out of position as in position, as I remember it. He was just fast enough to still make a few plays. There is definitely room for improvement.

Another thing I see. A 60 yard kickoff return for Vandy with less than three minutes to go. Not what you want when you have a one-point lead. Isn't Stan Drayton coaching special teams now? It'll be interesting to see if things get better. They certainly can't get any worse.

Lots of mention of Willingham, again. He's really been garnering the praise lately with this and Fulmer's comments about his offseason improvement.

I heard that interview on air yesterday and Berry/Morley said you could just forget about Willingham's side, i.e. he's a lockdown corner.

I can't wait to see how good these guys are actually gonna be.

I can't wait to see Willingham, i hope he's a shutdown corner. Berry did get burned, but if we didn't have him playing like he did last year, he would have went 6-6. I'm also excited to see Morley.

Playing SS is a much better fit for Berry IMO given how hard he hits. He's going to abuse some receivers running crossing routes.

Berry got burned alot more when he was playing out of position. When they moved him to S, he got better.

yet he dropped a sure-fire INT over the middle with a few mins left and Vandy driving, that wont happen again

Vinson was mentioned a couple times, and no rogan, or Gaines, or M. Johnson, who were all ranked above Vinson on the depth chart the other day.....
INTERESTING ..... :whistling:

I watched it and I agree with you. As good as he was as a freshman there was room for improvement. I can't wait to see him this year. One thing I noticed in the Vanderbilt game, even if he got out of place from time to time, he would still clean your clock. Man that boy can hit!

If i'm not mistaken, pass coverage was definitely Morley's weakness. If he is our best cover guy then either he has improved tremendously or we are in trouble.

Berry's playmaking ability is best suited in a position where he can roam some, and Safety is the best spot for him. When he is constantly stuck on someone, his ability is lost.

Vinson isn't further up the depth chart because he handling some academic stuff and Fulmer is letting him take care of that first.

Here's to hoping Willingham is always covering the other team's best receiver.
