I have been anti JG for 2 years, but cannot stand seeing fans piling on him now. I saw Shrout in the game, and JG probably is the 2nd best QB on the team. Based off what seems to have happened on the goal line play, I personally do not like him any more or any less. I know it was a big play at the time but I want my seasoned QB to feel like him can change a play if he sees something in the D formation. I don't think it caused TENN to lose. They already had 3 tries inside the 5 and hadn't made it.

I'm 29 years old and I can't remember a QB who has been more disliked amongst fans than JG. I know Tyler Bray had his leadership issues, but people recognized that he could play. Clausen, Ainge, Worley, Dobbs had their critics, but they were fan favorites with many. Most people just felt pity towards Nathan Peterman. How does JG rank in terms of historical disdain from the QB position?

JG needs the respect of ALL on VN. He is broken giving his all for the brand we love. All the hits he has taken over the last couple of years has taken a toll we can never measure.. All of those hits we claim he is tough, well yes, but it has taken a toll on this player and we need to give him the respect he really deserves. Be mad at his play but respect the person and try to give him hope.

Respect him for those reasons you outlined, while also recognizing that respect is not the same thing as playing time...barring injury to every other available option at QB, let's respect him as he enjoys the games from the bench.

Of course, but don't call him a loser. When you look at the overall record this team is not yet a winner. things are getting better, but remember, JG helped us beat MS and with the exception of the goal line play, JG played okay against Alabama. His play gave us a chance against Alabama and he screwed up the GL play and missed JJ on that pass that was a certain TD. But, that isn' the only mistake made in that game.
