Bench JG against BYU

But he did lead an offense to 23 points (with another 7 coming in garbage time) and 3 turnovers against a sun belt defense.....

It goes both ways

And those turnovers lead to other team scoring, whether they do it on that drive or not, keeps your defense on the field too long. The other team gets more plays off resulting in them scoring more.

I’m sure he’ll start against BYU. But not sure he’ll finish. He’s wound too tight; trying not to make an error. You have to be able to throw it downfield and trust your receivers. Screw the sliding to protect yourself, dive forward for the extra yardage. The team needs a leader by example now.
He doesn't have instinct. Look at the opponent qb, that is instinct, direction, processing information in a timely manner. JG doesn't have that "it" factor and will never be a SEC caliber qb. Got have the it every week.

If I’m Pruitt I would find the guys who actually want to be on the football field. No way in hell that this team loses to Georgia state if they care. I don’t care about coaching even if we suck, you out talent this team.

Pruitt never pulled him last year unless he was injured, I seriously doubt he puts Shrout or Mauer in, regardless of JG's level of play. Pruitt seems to lock himself into his decisions once he's made them.

Maybe not. But if we’re down 14 or more to BYU at halftime, with people bailing out of the stadium, it would be almost cruel to keep sending him out there. At a certain point, you have to cut bait and move on.

Protection was not an issue. Even when the oline did break down, he still had 4 seconds of protection. If you can't make a decision and execute in 4 seconds, you have no business being a D1 QB.

Protection was an issue. Both lines got man handled today. The blindside hit that caused the fumble shouldn't occur against a 2-10 sunbelt team, ever. That said, the D lost this game not JG. This isn't debatable, suggesting otherwise reveals a profound lack of objectivism.

I'm somewhat ok on pass blocking, or I'm not going to blame them for the L anyway. But the run blocking stunk against Ga State. Eric Grey's acrobatics and Chandler's speed are the only reason we didn't go 3 and out all day. Poor Run blocking.

Go back and watch the replay tonight, count the seconds after snap, oline protection was not a problem. Defense was trash, but we should have been able to outscore Georgia State. We had the opportunity to do so, and did not.

30 was enough to beat G.S. JG is a convenient scapegoat.
Obviously it wasn't. The guy still cannot read a defense presnap or else he would've pointed out the LB that lit him up, still throws behind receivers on slants on 4th down, has absolutely 0 pocket presence, and found the endzone with the best receiving corps in years one time before the game was out of reach.

JG didn't play well but he was severely limited with stupid ass play calling. When we actually threw down FEILD it worked. But no let's do little 2 yard passes all damn game.
Same shiZ as last year from the coaches. Maybe Pruitt is just too conservative

Nope, but their QB was able to orchestrate more Touchdown drives against an SEC defense than our QB against a sunbelt defense. Do you still want to use the sunbelt argument?

311 yards against any conference is acceptable. So yes.

That blindside hit came after the guy ran 20 yards just to get to JG. The guy has no awareness about him. 0.
