There seemed like 20 Scouts on the concourse behind homeplate. It was jam packed with radar guns and Scouts. One of my favorite BaseVol memories was an Auburn game in 2022 when Ben threw the all-time fastest pitch in college baseball. I was sitting behind home plate and several seats from a baseball scout with a radar speed gun. There were several there. He announced it to those around him that Ben just threw the fastest recorded pitch @105.3 mph. However, the official recorded speed was 105.5 for that pitch.
Unfortunately, Ben will be in a special tier of Hell for a few years. The quicker he gets to a contender, the better.Unfortunately for Angels fans, recording a save requres a lead..I believe they will improve over time but leads seem to be scarce this season..IMHO Ben will continue putting up great numbers, with OR without saves as one of them..Love watching him pitch though...It is indeed a treat....
He was on MLB Central this morning, like a 15-20 minute segment in their NY City studio. Informative & funny.
