Once they get here, we have to keep them. We have too many 4* and 5*'s that didn't make it for even 3 seasons on Rocky Top.

We can get the players, but in the past, we didn't have the staff to develope them and many of players were gone before even 3 seasons.

Cam Clear, Mike Edwards, Pat Martin, etc. etc.

If we get all 3 then we will be in top 10 recruiting and top 3 or 4 in SEC. Will we get all 3 probably not but I would be very happy if we get 2.

Good golly we are going to have some suicidal folks in Feb.
Sounds as if jones is working hard but I've yet to see a recruit that knocks my socks off. Jenkins is impressive but of course he is a legacy. At this point it appears UT will finish second or third to a lot of very good recruits. Obviously, you have to get in the home. But closing the deal is the only thing that's going to make a difference for the program in the end. Granted it looks like Dooley left a bigger mess than we could even imagine. But Jones is getting paid big time head coach money. I'll get excited when I start seeing some of these big time Prospects sign papers.

But, he still could have meant "animate" as in "demonstrative, strongly expressive" ya' know like a Bobby Bowden "dadgum" statement. Given this context, yes, "adamant" would probably be more accurate.

Apparently, coaches get only one "in-home" visit with recruits. Be nice if they got at least one more. He could choose an offensive playmaker like Green with whom to do something similar.

His decision will be on signing day at 10 am (ESPNU).

I believe we have a very good chance of signing him. I think he had originally wanted to come to UT, but the lack of personal attention by the former regime cooled that desire somewhat.

BOC needs him, and I think CBJ has done a superb job of expressing that sentiment to him and his family.

Well momma usally gets what momma wants. At least thats the case in most families. I hope it holds true in the Green household.

Think of some of the vols who are huge in the nfl now that werent 5 stars. Remember Tim Brady? He was the best in orange we've seen but wasn't 5 stars, and now he starts for the Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!

In 2007 we signed 4 5* players: Ben Martin, Chris Donald, Eric Berry, and Brent Vinson

In 2005 we singed 3: Demitrice Morely, Johnathon Crompton, and Lamarcus Coker.

It's crazy to see how little production we got out of those 5 stars recruited on '05 & '07, other than Berry of course. Crompton got better at the end if his SR year, Vinson switched to D but couldn't keep up his grades, Martin had lots of injury issues, Coker would have been awesome if not for Mary, Donald never did anything at all, & Morley was good but couldn't keep up his grades
