Behind Enemy Lines

Have lived 40 miles south of the swamp for 30 years and fly my orange and white proudly. It wasn't to bad until Spurrier hit town - kinda sucked since then but hoping things will turn around soon.

I'm now back in the South in the Hotlanta area after several in New Jersey. In Jersey they had no idea what the Power "T" was on the front of my car. Now, in my own home I have to deal with FSU fans (wife and older step-son), UGA fan (younger step-son) and then me and my son are loud and proud UT fans. Even sadder yet, my oldest step-son is going to Bammer in the Fall. UT was in his top 3 colleges, but they would not even talk to us in Knox about out-of-state scholarships to help with the out-of-state tuition.

Charleston SC. I have to deal with USCjr fans - 2005 and 2008 were horrible (when they actually beat us). But there are quite a few TN fans down here at the beach.

Go VOLS.

Same, it is tough living in delusionalville where every year the Cocks are preseason SEC champs in their brains and get so upset when they start dropping L's every week come mid September...kinda comical though.

Here in Memphis, the majority of fans are SEC related and we all get along fine. However Memphis fans are a strange breed. They have a ridiculously large chip on thier shoulder and think they are every SEC school's "rival" yet they dont know quite how a rivalry works. They think you just run around being a complete a-hole to everyone who cheers for a different institution. It's crazy. By far the most bratty fanbase next to UF.

If you ever want to start a fight with some of the older Razorbacks, just tell them Ricky Townsend's game winning field goal was definitely good in the '71 Liberty Bowl. I was an 11 year old kid living down there as a Vols fan at the time. There are folks there who will still argue it.

Chattanooga, a smorgasbord of UT, UGA and Bammy fans. Although the closet Bama fans are popping up more and more these days. I guess it was about time to dust off those flags after a decade of being ashamed. I'm triply outnumbered.

I think you mean "bandwagon" and "fair weather" Bama fans, not "closet." When the parade is in town, they're loud and proud.

Was stationed in Jacksonville amongst all the dog and gator fans. Now I am in alabama and in my opinion, the bammers are way more obnoxious here than any other fan base territory I have been in.

I am in the Air force currently in Afghanistan but live in Little Rock Ar. It always seems the fans are always excited about the upcoming football season an dthen call and complain on the radio show after the games. The fans here are not that bad, but since the hiring of Bobby he has brought new life to the state. I really think they are probaly some of the most dedicated fans around just because its all they have to cheer for in Arkansas along with the Dallas Cowboys.

We have our share of Vol fans here in Huntsville and the surrounding area, more than I would have thought when I moved down here. I guess it helps that we are only 30 miles from the state line and a lot of people that live in Fayetteville work in Huntsville.

My wife just got me this as a present and of course I have already had a few people here tell me Im #1. I was wondering how many of you guys live behind enemy lines as it were. I have lived in Jacksonville, FL and had to deal with both UF and UGA fans. From there we lived in Texas and I battled all the horn fans over who was the real UT. Now we've landed in Arkansas and all the Hog callers think they'll average 40 points a game next year. I sure do miss living in Tennessee.

Maybe in basketball....

Nice Plate!!

I live in Pennsylvania. Also have Rocky Top on my vanity plate. Penn State fans are very loyal and root for their team hard, but there is absolutely no trash talking or anything close to that here! I probably see 5 to 7 UT tees, car plates or window clings a week here.

My baby girls go to Rutgers bball camp because its 2 hours away and its the best womens program around here. They wear Lady Vols gear the entire time and Stringer laughs her arse off at them! I've got a great pic of Stringer and my daughters we had signed. They are all in UT gear and Stringer wrote "boo Tennessee" on her autograph!! Haha

I also started a girls AAU hoops organization and we are the Lady Vols. All tricked out in Orange and Powder Blue. Its a very desirable team to play on. We dominate and people are extremely inquisitive as to why we went that way with a team and their color! To which I respond " we kick everybodys butt, just like Summitt does".

I live in Mobile, AL. We have LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida fans here, but mainly Auburn & Alabama. Listening to sports talk here can be a bit annoying at times. I sure do wish I could listen in on some UT talk.

I live in Tuscaloosa. Lets just say Bear is saint, Saban is the second coming, and they will win the next 10 National Championship. That is atleast the word around town.

Upon opening or recieving this gift did you promptly tell your wife, "Thanks, but we are currently witnessing the death of UT Football."
