I had picked Mizzou to be the deciding game as to whether the Vols made 6 wins and a bowl game.

Now the Mizzou game is the one that will show just how far this young team has come and could possibly get them bowl eligible before the Vandy game.

Tennessee has played relatively the same all year (yes I know Dobbs has changed the offense) but the team itself has played hard, never given up, and made relatively few mistakes. All of these things usually doom a young team.

Mizzou on the other hand has been Jeckyll and Hyde all year. Which team shows up this week? They have a lot to play for with a chance to win the east but I have this feeling that the "good" Mizzou team shows up. They had a by week before aTm and should still be rested.

This is the toughest game to put my finger on all year, I just do not know what to expect from Mizzou.

Winning out would prove to me that Butch has us a year ahead of schedule.

Losing to Mizzou won't be the end of the world, but I can't help and get giddy thinking of possibly ending their 2 game streak against us with a chance to beat candy and a chance at an 8 win season.

I don't think anyone knows what to think of Mizzou. They are definitely a Jekyll and Hyde type team.

Our team has gotten better as the season went along.

After watching all of the Mizzou/aTm game I think Mizzou has also gotten better as the season went along.

They have some big time playmakers on both sides of the ball and they're a dangerous and hungry team going for the SEC East Championship.

Both of their DE's are really good so our O line will have to bring their A game.

Their RB is dangerous and can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball.

If we can stuff the run and force Mauk to beat us passing the ball then I think our boys get a huge WIN.

UGa wil be our biggest fans this week, LOL!

I hate for them to win the SEC East but we need to beat Mizzou this year.

It'll be a really tough game for 60 minutes but I believe we can get this Win and head to Nashville to stomp the Comode doors.

This will not be an easy game. Mizzou has had our number. I hope for a nice W, but know we can beat Candy to get a bowl. Play hard and whatever happens happens.

We will win I think, because our team chemistry on the field is better than it has been in a long time.

x's and o's: Offensively our wr's should have their way with their secondary (blocking and catching). Hurd and Dobbs both put immense pressure on LB's because both can get the edge, as can our slot guys (pig and von). Which opens up our mid-range game with Ellis and Wolf.

Defensively our pass rush is getting better and better. A lot of it is because Maggit and Barnett cannot be double teamed and are winning one on one match-ups. WHy? Because Coleman and Reeves-Maybin are defending very well 5-12 yards down field. Our ends are running the circles very quickly. AJ has been the problem with QB runs unfortunately. Everything else he has been solid on.

We are getting production from every part of the game including special teams. We will play even better this week.

This is a game where a loud crowd and pretty hot offense will prove to be too much for Mizzou. Mauk can get rattled and I think he will. I predict big night for North (Mizzou will plan for Pearson and Pig). Vols 36- 20

haha

Seriously though, people think Mizzou is this up and down team, that can beat or lose to anyone.

No... they are pretty consistent with the talent they have available. Mauk is the wildcard... in my opinion he is a shorter version of Patrick Towles.

We are a better team now... than the UGA team was when they pounded them 34-0

Mizzou has been benefactors of circumstances. (not playing Bama, LSU, Aubrun, Ole MIss, Miss State....playing Florida with no identity and no luck, TA&m with no defense whatsoever and freshman QB)

Their one bad game was against Indiana. They are better than them. Everything else has been consistent.

But this week... they are running into the hottest team in the SEC that is eager to show the new talent we have on board

48-10 Vols

I just hope the team does not go into this over confident. This is a game we should not be favored to win, even though it is at home...it is like a trap game for us.
