We're probably not gonna beat Auburn...I just hope We can make a game of it and gain some confidence...I would like to at least get some hope out of this team.

Auburn will be coming out of their own locker room, in front of a home crowd, breathing fire...looking for a BIG win to assuage their pride after being spanked by an un-ranked team.
Those are FACTS.
Realistically, I believe our best performance will result in a close game that "could have gone either way", where our guys play HARD until the clock reads 00:00 and folks come away thinking "if we had played another quarter...we'd have won".
That's my prediction for a BEST performance game. If our team plays below their best..it will be ugly.

Please realize Miss State is a much different team than Tennessee. They’re a very physical offense with a strong running qB and a good defense playing at home.

None of which apply to Tennessee.
Once a loser, always a loser. Gotcha

Since we didn't play this week, it was a good chance to watch all the games. Frustrating thing for me is that outsid
You just got to go try to damper any kind of optimism don't you. I don't think anybody thinks we got a chance against auburn unless we play well and limit turnovers while creating them. But there is no reason to throw water on our opportunity. It's like so of you don't even want to entertain the thought of winning. Most of us can handle losing but I chose to remain confident and hopeful and hope we continue to improve. The players and coaches are striving for success and I am a fan and will remain confident until it's over. But by all means continue on with the moaning. GBO!!!!!!
Agree and maybe Vols will put together a complete game/effort next Sat. MSt has entirely different offense than us...they've got a QB who can equalize a talent differential (kinda like Dobbs did). I will say that Aub confidence is probably not great, and their fans are probably back on the "fire Gus" train again, so, if we're able to come out fast and get them down early, taking the crowd out of the game, and play solid D, we may have a chance. Should be another low scoring contest.

Since we didn't play this week, it was a good chance to watch all the games. Frustrating thing for me is that we aren't participating in maybe the best parody year in the SEC in years (Bama excluded). Yesterday, there were so many great games, and you've got to give it to FL, TaM, SC, MSt for finding ways to win. Just hope we keep getting better so we can figure out how to win a few SEC games by the end of the year. The good thing is, outside of Bama and maybe UGA, the "big middle teams" this year is probably made up of 8 teams...the bad thing is we aren't one of those 8 teams...yet.

We won't score enough to beat Auburn. If they can get 24 to 30 points we'll lose by 10 or more.

There’s a chance but not likely.
No, there is no chance. MSU backs are very physical and their Oline is significantly better. Auburn is struggling offensively but UT offense will not sustain drives. D will get tired and that will be the difference.

Auburn could of beaten MSU by 30 and technically there would still be a chance for UT to beat them. Just the way the world works.

Oh piss off with this nonsense. He’s not even close to being the problem.

Seriously blows my mind how dumb some people are about JG. It is total nonsense. Throws a great ball, tough as nails, and is accurate (granted uga wasn't his most accurate game). Can't wait to watch him develop the rest of the year.

Auburn fans not feeling it this morning... our best chance is to go out fast and take the crowd out of the game, though that's been a challenge for us all year:
*I'll definitely be taking the points with Tenn. We won't be able to get up for them @ 11am after having our manhood taken by ole Uncle Joe Moorhead.
*Hard to feel confident about winning that one.
*Tennessee wins. Why? Because the offense will be worse than it was this week. It gets worse every game.
*We will lose to UT next week - book it .
*Oh I WILL be booking it. Right on the point spread for several dimes. Pruitt has them getting BETTER . Morris has Arky getting better . Gus has us going where?!?
*I hope we don't. Our season is over. I just want to see somebody different throw the ball and run the offense. Otherwise don't score another TD the rest of the season until Liberty for all I care.

Agree on this, but hope he worked on progressions during off week. Needs to get much better at not staring down primary receiver...that being said, I think some of it has to do with having 1.5 seconds to throw the ball. Hope Helton finally starts moving the pocket because Aub DL is stout. MSt did a good job of spreading the field and not running into the strength of Auburn D.

What is their QB's completion % though? Thats the real gold standard for comparisons.

Auburn’s OL is terrible. Probably worse than ours, believe it or not. They’ve struggled scoring against decent teams all season, including Southern Miss. They’re definitely better than us, but they don’t belong in the Top 10. They aren’t on Georgia’s level... Not even close. I’m expecting a two score game, which means if we catch some breaks we could end up with a chance in the 4th.
I agree AND disagree.
They're O-line is not worse than ours. Catch breaks and have chance in 4th. Doubt it.
Otherwise agree.

The way this usually goes for the Vols is Stidham and the offense will figure it out and put 45 on the board.

I figure the Vols score 19 to keep that 26 point streak going.

I'm not hating on the kid but at some point you have to create plays.... He has what 1 TD pass? Granted his tightend did fumble one out of the back of the endzone.....

Just hope he creates plays against Auburn.

I’m thinking the negavols will post this weekend about how we suck because we didn’t beat an auburn team that every logical fan knew we would lose to.

Hell, many fans were bitching how we lost to Georgia.
