You haven't had enough Schafly's then. They make some fine beers and also make some middle of the road as well. Love Oracle, but completely different type of IPA than Hopslam.

Oracle is a 2x IPA, IMO better than years Hopslam.

tried the entire family of Schafly beers, unimpressed. would never order a Schafly when Bells, Founders, 3 Floyds, New Albanian, dogfish, etc are available.

I also hate you people with access to the Plinys.

Schafly's APA, Dry Hopped APA, Pumpkin, their Reserve series, are all fine beers. Of course if I was sitting there and 3 Floyds, Founders, Bells or New Albanian was there along with Schafly's I probably would choose one of those as well...and camp out because it would be a hell of a beer bar. Dogfish has some very good beers, but I'll be honest, I think they are overall a bit overrated. I love their experimental nature, but sometimes I think they miss their mark. I'll take Short's for my "off the wall" beer. As far as Oracle and Hopslam, I guess what I mean is they are similar IPAs, but with different approaches. Oracle is more boozy imo and delish. Love that beer when I can get it. Hopslam is a DIPA as well, but the honey helps smooth out that alcohol flavor. Love both of those and love having them in the beer fridge when I can come across it in my travels. Had both on tap when we made our visit to Bell's on our Michigan beer tour. Now a huge IPA that blows both away in hoppiness (sp) (although not saying in taste)....Founders Devil Dancer. What a huge beer.

Titan, I agree with you on Dogfish. The last beer of theirs I enjoyed was the RJ Hellhound.

Love some Devil Dancer, Seemed to be rare this year, my local only got one keg. They have had the Founders Double Trouble all year, kits been my go to beer this summer.

I hear nothing but good things about the tour up at bells.

I was at Founder's the day they released Devil Dancer. Brought home a case! Super Fresh! Michigan has GREAT beers. Short's was probably my favorite. Heading down to New Orleans for a short trip, but they don't really have alot down there. I will be there for Zwanza (sp) Day, but honestly it will be so crowded, not sure if I'll go.

Picked up 2,6 packs of Blue Moon Pumkin Ale,smooth beer.I would still like to find a actual seasonal beer that had a hint of pumkin in it.

Well the weather was cool last night and I saw that the grocer finally had some Octoberfest beers in the cooler section.

Went with one of my personal favs

I tried the Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale recently. Smooth beer as you mentioned, very drinkable had absolutely no pumpkin taste to it though. A disgrace to a proper pumpkin ale if you ask me and failed attempt at convincing me that any pumpkin at all was used.

And I forget the name of the micro brewing company from the US, and this might not be useful but maybe one of you beer snobs can pin it. They have several great beers, but I remember the ones i tried all had a high alcohol %.... again from the US, their coco beer is excellent they also have a mocha beer I believe? both were very high in alcohol percertage. their label is pretty generic I think, like it definitely wasn't as flashy as some other microbrews....let's see, they also had a barley wine style and an ipa that I remember....anyhow their Pumpin Ale was the best that I've tried to date. Seriously if I ever find that thing again I'm buying a twelve for storing.

Oh and Dogfish Head makes a very tasty pumpkin ale, called the Punkin Ale. It stays true to a pumpkin pie like taste, mmmm-mmmm my taste buds are remembering it now, really the taste is spot on, I couldn't stop raving about this beer to my friends when I tried it for the 1st time. And its one of the smoothest beers you will ever put down.

Ick. I tried this the other day for the first time. Had a bad aftertaste, the citrus-orange tasted unusually artificial and overpowering and it was super carbonated almost like drinking a budweiser and a sunkist mixed together.

Anyone else find this beer nearly undrinkable?

First of all, I need to try a Pumpkin beer. Been wanting to for a while.

Second of all, I'd pass on Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest. Taste like a weak IPA mixed with honey. Better than Busch Light... I mean Honey Weiss. Nothing special though. Disappoint

Personally, I like it. More than Blue Moon in fact. You're not the only one here that dislikes it though. It seems quite a few do.

Got a hint of chocolate on the last drink of the bottle. Fat Tire-esque. The rest of the bottle definitely didn't taste like the last drink. To be fair, the first couple drinks didn't taste like the rest of it either. Weird... just taste like an odd mix altogether. Just happy it wasn't watered down like Honey Weiss.

Oh man... Brother got back into town and bought beer like it was his last time ever doing it. Well over $100 in one trip to the market, will try and make a list in a little.
