I've never seen an Englishman drink a Newcastle, nor an Irishman drink a Guinness, nor a Japanese drink a Sapporo, nor an Australian drink a Fosters,..............I could go on but you get the picture. I like all the above anyway.
irish actually like budweiser, but do drink guinness. sapporo in japan tastes nothign like the exported version (i like the exported version better btw).
Not exactly the same analogy but ok.
.
No not exactly, but just because a brew isn't popular in it's home country doesn't automatically make it bad. Some foreign countries regular table fare would be considered disgusting here. Dog, snake, octopus, centipede, rat, tarantula are some that come to mind.
I get ya' and think (hope) we're just having fun here. I was just thinking I never see anyone 'round hear drinking Schaeffer's or Falls City so if I was new to the area I'd probably not pay 'specialty' prices for them. It doesn't bother me at all when people drink Corona but some try to portray it as a top shelf alternative. It ain't. JMO.

Fun is the only reason I'm here. I rarely drink Corona, as I said I can tolerate it. I've had Schaeffers, wasn't too crazy about it, never tried Falls City. Have tried Iron City and Blatz, Neither was special. Strohs was big in Ohio, anyone try it?
I have had Strohs. Not terrible. And Falls City ain't terrible either I just couldn't remember other high school beers quick enough. I don't know if they still make Black Label but I drank enough of it to float the Bismark when young.
Carling Black Label, one of the worst beers I ever tried. I had an Uncle who drank it, and he would give me a can or two at times. Almost turned me away from beer. It was cheap though! I have not seen it for years.
Are you referring to Sapporo Black or whatever it's called? Tried whatever it was called in NM b/c the bartender went on a long diatribe about how rare it was to find in the US, how good, etc. I can't remember the name and would like to find it if possible.
The Irishmen I have known, here and in Ireland, drink both Guinness and Jameson by the gallon. I don't really remember seeing a lot of Bud consumed when I was there, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's the Coke of beer, and despite what you snobs say, it's a decent American lager.

you'll find bud light in most pubs in ireland. it's strange. and no it isn't a decent beer.
You're too old to be doing acid.
