Terrapin Wake-n-Bake Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout from Terrapin Beer Company - Ratebeer

Terrapin Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout - Terrapin Beer Company - BeerAdvocate

There are two reviews of it. You should be able to get it in GA, it's made in Athens. Do they have weird high grav rules there?

All of the pictures I have found are way too big. I will pour it in a glass and take a pic shortly.

Nice. I am heading directly to "The Classic Bottle Shoppe" 1 min. from my house in the morning.

i have a buddy who makes beer and actually has a functioning tap with 3 types of his beer. it's a lot of work though and all in it ends up costing about the same as buying it.

Really? The beer I make is at least four times as cheap as buying it.

Making a stellar Boch or IPA may be the same cost as buying Miller Lite. It is the "same cost", but not the same beer. I do 5 gallon batches, though, so maybe there's a difference between the systems. I'd imagine if your friend is making kegs, he should be doing it a lot cheaper than I am, though!

Q: How is having sex in a canoe like american mass produced beer?

A: They're both ******* close to water.

An oldie, but a goodie.

yeah i thought it was stange to. he makes a lot of specialty brews like xmas ales and stouts. maybe he just uses high end stuff? beats me.

Thanks you all for the recommends on SA Winter Ale. Just bought some and enjoying

I become giddy when I walk in the store and they have switched over from Octoberfest to Winter Ale. Brother in law works for a beverage company and if they have left overs after the season is done then they have to buy it back from their stores and he drinks Coors Light by choice. Last spring I ended up with 4 cases for 20 bucks. I'm praying there is more at the end this year.

Had some SA Winter Lager last night, not bad, I'll take Killians, Amber Bock, fat Tire, Yuengling, and of course Newcastle over it

Do not buy Guinness Draught in bottles. It is nothing like it is supposed to be. Get the 4 pack cans and pour them into the glass. There is a golf ball like device in the can, do not be alarmed. It is injecting the nitro.

The extra stout is the original Guinness. I prefer the draught, especially if you can get it on tap.

Imports are going to cost you, bite the bullet and enjoy. It is totally worth it.

I decided to give Guinness a go and wish now that I had referred to this post before buying the Draught in the bottle. What a waste of 9 bucks. It tastes very flat and non flavored.I don't know if I will try the can but if I do,I hope it's way better than this crap I'm drinking right now.

Looks like I'm a New Castle kind of guy.

Ain't nothing wrong with that, Newcastle is quality brew.

I'm just now venturing the many beers out there, but New Castle is a solid choice.

I was about to post in your birthday thread but I will do it here.Happy belated Birthday, hope you had a good one.

Thank you sir ... :salute:

As for Newcastle, to me it's the best mass produced beer that's easily available, may I suggest you give Sierra Nevada a try, the Pale Ale is outstanding and my second favorite of the mass produced brews.

Give the cans a try, you will be shocked with the difference. I can't take the bottles seriously.

Had a Sierra Nevada at the Broadway Brewhouse a couple days ago, give it strong props. They have 93 brews on draught there, and I have 83 to go.

Maybe. I doubt LA (if that's where your buddy lives) has fewer homebrew stores than Atlanta. So it certainly isn't a supply issue.

Also, I may or may not have mentioned this one before, but if you like porters look for this

Kona Brewing Company makes a few that have seen wide distribution, I am going to try the Fire Rock Pale eventually. The Pipeline Porter is their Autumn seasonal, so I am not sure how much longer it will be out. Definitely a quality beer.

usaf, were you able to find the Terrapin?

My spot didn't have it. There is another place in town that might, but I don't like going there. Might have to suck it up and go.

My store said they can see if they can get some. They have always come through. Maybe I'll wait and see.
