Beer (and beer pics!)

I invite you to google up any of this. Start with the career of Adolphus Busch. If your friend really thinks that the Anheusers and the Busches first got together over in Germany, then sorry to say, but he doesn't know a damn thing about anything.

Yeah right, he was just an old fart that knew nothing.

Fare thee well young buck while you believe everything written in every book, you'll probably never know the real deal.

Believe what you want and I will do the same.

Good evening.:)

Agreed. Your friend was apparently just an old fart that knew nothing.

What I read in that book seems to be backed up by everything I've online, especially when reading about the careers of Eberhard Anheuser and Adolphus Busch. And the history of Budweiser beer.

Granted that we can all choose to believe what we wish. But it's funny how I can't find anything anywhere online about your friend's version of events, isn't it?

Did you google in German???

Just how infallible is google??

I don't care what you believe.

I am weary of leading mules to water who will not drink.

So you went to the beach and read a book?

Tell me more.

You're the most pretentious poster on VN. And that's saying something. The mules won't drink because you're constantly leading them to a latrine.

Provide one citation for your little story. German is fine.

I am going to the store after work. Need to see what my spending limit will be for this weekend.

Guinness is the top priority.
SA Octoberfest is back in stores.
Need a cheap beer to add quantity for emergency consumption before, during and after the game.

Been on it all week, love that stuff

Anywhere near Garmisch?

My son had a Czech girlfriend and went over there a couple of years ago, he said a mug of beer anywhere, even the best hotel bars was never more that 50 cents.

Ever heard of Slivovitz??? Her dad sent back four bottles of homemade slivovitz, I had always thought it was only made from plums but he had plum, apple and two more varieties that I don't remember. Good stuff.

You do like the Hoof brau?

Garmish is about a two and a half hour drive south of Hohenfels. Great skiing and they also still have hotels and ski services for the active duty there. I haven't heard of Slivovitz. Sounds eastern European though.

The time has arrived....my wife and I are going to the Belgian Beer Festival here in Boston tomorrow....this man is excited....very excited....(but I think that I'm getting sick!! no!!!)

Scotch tonight to kill some of the germs. Have fun tomorrow. I am jealous.

hmm...sounds like a possibility. I really feel like I am getting steam rolled by something...if I feel crappy tomorrow, I'm going to be extremely mad. We've looked forward to this for too long for me to drag half-assed into the place.

...on a related note, I went to the Brad Paisley concert in Manchester, NH last night. The wife and I stopped by a couple of microbreweries on the way...Martha's Exchange in Nashua and Milly's Tavern in Manchester...good brews.

Bud Light Lime, a very drinkable beer. I was surprised, low expectations going into it because of Miller Chill.

Although Guinness is tops, a cooler full of BL Lime at a tailgate or outing or sitting on the couch playing civilization revolution, you can't go wrong.

A bud that is drinkable. Still looking for the Bud Ale.
