Beer (and beer pics!)

Haven't decided whether to leave it or not. Even cropped, there's no way to read the headstone once you shrink it down to the size of an avatar. But I think it's appropriate for this week.

And since this is the beer thread, this is probably the place to share what I seem to have done to my kitchen at 3 AM last night while I was still drunk and pissed off. I told the frau that it's staying up there until we win a game that I'm proud of, dammit.

Going out for some beers after work. Think I'll go across Europe. Paulaner, Guinness, and Newcastle. It's good to have a game plan. Just ask CPF.

Spent too much money at the pub last night but I did go around the world. I had Miller Lite, Guinness, Newcastle, Polini (sp?) and Tucher Hefeweizen.

Sounds like a well rounded trip, of course going round the world used to have another connotation.

My son-in-law drinks leinenkugel, I like it too.

OK, I tried drinking last night for the colts game and it was bad. I am still not recovered from my nasty cold. This sucks, hopefully this week will clear me of it and I can get slam drunk this weekend!

So I went drinking in Athens (Georgia) on Friday night for the first time in a long while. If any of you ever make it over there, I cannot recommend the bar "Trappeze" highly enough. One of the five best beer bars I've ever been to. We went there early in the evening, went somewhere else, and then said, "What the hell are we doing?" and went back to Trappeze. I had an enormous amount of fantastic beer there, all 9 to 11 percent alcohol (so it's only today that I'm feeling human again). We were going through the list of beers that we had the next morning, and all my friend and I could remember about the last beer was that it was A) the hoppiest beer I've ever had, and B) it had the word "death" somewhere in the name.

Seriously: this place is worth a trip to Athens all by itself. Best beer bar in the south that I know of, by far. Probably the third best that I know of in the country. And it was CHEAP.

I'm a little disappointed in your avatar change. Loved the Neyland headstone, even unreadable.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm gonna see what I can do with the picture in the GIMP to see if I can enhance it into readability. If that doesn't work, I may have to make a trip down to the boneyard next time I'm up in Knoxville and take my own photo.

EDIT: I now have a picture that looks like something from a horror movie full size. (Sepia tones; super high contrast.) It's vaguely readable as an avatar at 1440x900, I think. At least if you already know what it says. Hmm.
