Beer (and beer pics!)

I only drink it if I don't feel like a "good" beer.

FWIW never claimed MHL was a great beer - pretty good for a cheap brew.

Sweetwater IPA is my favorite "good" beer

Some of my engineering buddies determined that High Life was the best, most cost effective beer for your buck to get drunk on. Its definitely not for taste, its to get the job done.

Mmmm...can't wait to open these:

House Bill 47 passes 6 yes, 3 no, to advance the bill allowing high gravity beer in Tennessee grocery stores instead of just liquor stores. Still more to do but that's some great progress toward fixing the beer cap.

Went to work the Tupelo Craft beer fest this past weekend. Went to a beer dinner night before where the highlight was Yazoo Sue aged with moonshine cherries. Amazing.

After the festival on Saturday, the crew had an epic bottle tasting. I would post a pic, but seems like a pain to do. Suffice to say there wasn't much we didn't open with the brewers...over 80 beers easy. Great time. That's my favorite part of working out of town festivals.

I was supposed to be there for the after party but was caught up at my sister in laws wedding. Big bummer, had several friends there that probably brought a lot of good stuff. JR is the leader of the North Mississippi Craft Beer and Cigar FB page and makes the unique welded openers. Awesome guy.

Did you go to the festival? I hung with JR and Shannon. Great guys and brought some great beer. Those openers are insane. I would love to get one but they are pricey...but awesome.

Yeah, I'm good friends with JR and Shannon is super cool. I didn't make the festival but I should be at ENBF as well as Wiseacre's new fest.

Looking forward to it.

Any advice on beer destinations in Chattanooga?

Mocasin Bend Brewing Company is a pretty cool place to check out. I have only had one or two of their beers but they were good.

We also have Chattanooga Brewing Company. CBC is being carried in a lot of places downtown.

Go to the Tremont Tavern and Brewhaus. Tavern has the best burger in town and a cool atmosphere. Brewhaus has some cool German dishes. Great beers on tap at both places. Local beers as well such as Mocasin Bend and CBC. I don't consider Mocasin Bend or CBC to be that great most of the time, but they aren't bad.

So skip Terminal?

I like the Terminal but I have talked a few people who like craft beer but don't like their beer. I really liked their Scotish ale they put out but it's on seasonal rotation.

I will have to agree with Sam on Brewhaus. It's pretty dang good food and a good view of Coolidge park if you sit on the back deck and eat.

There is also Strumhaus (sp). It's similar to Causal Pint in Knoxville but on a smaller scale.

I'll second Brewhaus...we had the after party there last year. Cool place. There is also a growler place that sounds pretty cool. Heaven and Hell maybe?
